Fable III's special edition Xbox 360 controller, morally ambiguous and gold
Because standard hues and anachronistic science fiction designs simply won't mesh, Microsoft will be releasing this kingly limited edition Fable III Xbox 360 controller designed after the in-game Crown of Albion. Street date is October 5th, three weeks before the game itself decides to rear its royal head, and comes with a token for downloading an exclusive in-game tattoo. Look for it priced at $59.99, or about 15 boxes of Lucky Charms depending on your grocery store preferences. Video showcase after the break.

Is he missing a flight or what?
Should we thank them for limiting it, or boycott because of bad design?
The color scheme reminds of a public toilet with too much #2 mixing with some #1.
@DizWhiz more of the top coating of a porta-potty
@DizWhiz I bet it smells bad
@DizWhiz
probably smell's as bad as these feet of yours
@snowrid3r Your jealousy will be your undoing.
Oooh, shinny!
Talk about a slow news day...
ewwww
reminds me of the airbrush work on the local carnival rides.
Didn't the second one like just come out?
That controller looks angry.
That's just completely unattractive. We're talking on a Sandra Bernhard level here.
I don't know if I like it or hate it.
@zerofunction
Spoiler: you hate it.
It certainly doesnt give me wood.
Does anyone know if the controller is painted or if that's a sticker decal on it?
I never understood the love for the fable series. Clearly these people don't know that if it isn't starcraft or street fighter 2, you're never going to be internet cool.
I kinda like it...it's vaguely mesmerizing, in a horrible way.
That's actually really nice-looking.
@XciteMe
Your Idea of nice is very......warped. It looks horrendous.
@gold5225
To each its own. I happen to like it, too.
@aubreyq Exactly... Are people forgetting to associate this design with Fable's theme? It's a game set in the old world, when everything was wood and stone, and this compliments that theme.
@XciteMe
I like it too, especially considering Im using two shotty controllers anyway. Definitely gonna get this one to replace my broken ones.
@XciteMe I like it as well. It would look nice on my wood and glass coffee table in between my tv and couch.
@gold5225 horrendous in a nice sort of way
I'd rather have 15 boxes of lucky charms
Should be made of metal, otherwise it's just a controller with cheesy decal like all the others.
@arkweld No, it would still look like no.2. Also, a solid metal controlled would blow for anyone with sweaty palms
@obiterdictum
Actually, I kinda like the idea of a solid-metal controller, or, at least, one that has a reasonable amount of metal in contact with the hands. Just imagine the next level of force-feedback. In addition to the usual vibration, a minor shock would be received when said force-feedback vibrations were at their higher-to-highest levels. Obviously, nothing excessive, but something to give that little extra "jolt". Now THATS force feedback.
As for the "limited edition" Fable III controller, in a word, U-G-L-Y.
Game specific accessories are stupid.
@nbolmer So is your argument-less troll comment.
$59.99 cool, is more expensive than PlayStation Move, DON"T get me wrong.
But what I mean is: Why is everyone complaining about 1 Move's price when cost the same as DualShock 3 and as an Xbox 360 controller ($49.99)
@Bcta30 who really cares in the grand scheme of things
Someone's had too much coffee! Aside from that though, why would anyone buy this?
That paint job came straight off a hippie van of the 1970's.
@HighestRanked1
A) Irrelevant posting much
B) Arsenal sucks
i dont care about fable... it jus looks fukin awesome!
Am I the only one who thinks this controller is uggers beyond justification? I seriously must be missing something all of you see..
@trevoreon I don't think I've ever wanted to take a comment back completely. Until now.. I just stared at it for a few minutes.. I now want one.
@trevoreon
You might want to ask yourself, is it that you actually decided you like it, and that's why you, all of a sudden, want one...or, truth (probably) be told, you stared at it for so long that the psychologically-embedded message convinced you that you just must have it? LOL
I'm pretty sure that if you simply glued Lucky Charms cereal to a controller directly it would still look considerably better than this, even after extended use.
id buy it if it wasnt a fable3 controler
Every "Fable" thus far has been a disappointment that falls WAY short of the promises made. It's sold as an RPG, but it's really not an RPG. It's just a button-mashing adventure on rails. You really don't have any control over the story. You have to follow it from point A, to point B, to point C. You can't skip point B, and do point C in any way other than the way you're "supposed" to do it.
Sure, there's a little customization, but your character still turns out to have one of a few pre-designated appearances and archetypes.
It's pretty sad when a first-gen XBox 360 RPG (Oblivion) has more individual choices and customization than a late-generation game that is marketed as an open-ended experience (Fable II).
Honestly... I think even Red Dead Redemption has more RPG elements than Fable II did.
I just can't see Fable III as anything but a cash-in.
Do the ABXY buttons light up?
