HTC 7 Pro continues its tour of smaller carriers, launches on Cellular South for $200

Four months after launching on Sprint under the moniker HTC Arrive, it looks like the HTC 7 Pro is making the rounds among smaller carriers: earlier this week it hit US Cellular, and starting today you can also pick one up through Cellular South for $199.99 with a two-year contract and a $50 mail-in rebate. To recap, the 7 Pro is a full tilt-up QWERTY slider with a 3.6-inch WVGA display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel camera, and 16GB of storage. So is it worth the $200? That all depends on how long you've been holding out for Microsoft's slick Metro UI -- the 7 Pro is, after all, the only WP7 device you can buy through Cellular South. Full press release after the break.

Ridgeland, Miss. -- Cellular South, the largest privately held wireless communications provider in the U.S., introduced the HTC 7 Pro smartphone today offering customers its first Windows Phone 7-powered glance-and-go experience combined with an innovative design that features a sliding full QWERTY keyboard and tilt-up display.

The HTC 7 Pro also features a unique Start screen with Hubs that provides easy access to the user's most valuable content and customizable Live Tiles, which come to life with real-time updates from the Web. Depending on the app, the Live Tiles might show pending messages and appointments, news and weather, or game notifications and friend status – all continuously refreshed. It also lets the user customize people, apps, playlists, pictures, and other favorites to the Start screen, so they're available at a single touch.

"The HTC 7 Pro is the perfect device for power users who want to combine the ultimate in business efficiency with the ability to take full advantage of their leisure time," said Sherry Stegall, senior vice president for sales and customer operations at Cellular South.

Stegall said the sleek handset slides opens and tilts to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard for fast, comfortable typing, while productivity features such as the ability to sort, scan and manage Outlook email, open and edit the latest Office documents on the phone and keep track of the markets with the stocks application, offer new ways to maximize the business day.
