Become a space wolf with Warhammer 40K: Space Marine's pre-order bonuses

Though it's possible you've been offered the opportunity to dress like a space wolf at some other point today, we were quite excited to be extended such a chance by the newly announced pre-order bonuses for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine. Folks pre-ordering the forthcoming third-person space shooter at GameStop will get the hilariously named armor, as well as the "black templar chapter armor." A variety of other bonuses are available from several other retailers, detailed below the break.

Additionally, a "limited run" of the collector's edition seen above will be offered at retailers, going for $79.99 on PC and $89.99 on 360/PS3. Beyond the faux "Purity Seal" and artbook, Space Marine's collector's edition comes bundled in a box (shaped like an old book!) with the soundtrack, a pack of "character information cards" and the game itself.

Additionally, among the other ways you can currently get Darksiders for free, PC pre-orders at most retailers -- except THQ's own store, it seems -- will snag a copy of that alongside Space Marine.

  • "The Emperor's Elite Pack, only available at Gamestop, includes the unique Space Wolves and Black Templar chapter armor skins
  • For players who prefer the nefarious forces of Chaos, The Traitor Legion Pack includes the complete armor sets for the Iron Warriors and Emperor's Children and is only available at Best Buy.
  • The Golden Relic Chainsword, the primary close combat weapon for Space Marines, is only available at Amazon.com
  • The Golden Relic Bolter, a powerful ranged combat weapon, is only available at Walmart.
  • PC Gamers can celebrate their love of the Dawn of War series by donning themselves in the iconic red and bone colored armor of the Blood Ravens Chapter as well as receiving a FREE copy of Darksiders on PC when they pre-order the PC game through Steam.
  • PC Gamers also have the choice of pre-ordering their copy of Space Marine through THQ's E-Store to get an exclusive PowerSword weapon for multiplayer.
  • Finally PC Gamers who choose to buy a digital copy of Space Marine through select digital retailers will be offered a FREE copy of Darksiders on PC."

About Space Marine

When wave after wave of savage ORKS descend upon the Forge World GRAIA, it is up to humanity's greatest warriors to win the planet back.

They are SPACE MARINES, genetically modified, encased in hallowed armor, the equivalent of one hundred lesser men. They live only to defend the Imperium, and to slay its enemies in a war that never ends.

CAPTAIN TITUS, along with his comrades LEANDROS and SIDONUS, leads a detachment of these Space Marines onto the Forge World. There, they quickly discover that the fight against the Orks is not all that requires their attention. An Imperial Inquisitor named DROGAN needs help securing an experimental POWER SOURCE, before the Orks do so themselves.
