Scattered Shots: Hunter transmogrification inspiration

Image

Every Thursday, WoW Insider brings you Scattered Shots for beast mastery, marksmanship and survival hunters. Frostheim of Warcraft Hunters Union and the hunter podcast uses logic and science (mixed with a few mugs of dwarven stout) to look deep into the hunter class. Mail your hunter questions to Frostheim.or ask him on Google+.

We're going to take a break from the tumult of Mists of Pandaria beta news and give some attention to one of the most popular end-of-expansion doldrums activities: preparing the new badass look that you'll be wearing into pandaland.

Transmogrification has become an immensely popular subject in WoW. WoW Insider has a transmog resource list for general transmogrification information, and Tabana has a far more hunter-specific and extensive hunter transmogrification resources compilation over at the WHH that collects all the hunter transmog info from across the web.

Today, we're going to take a look at some of the awesome transmog looks that hunters have put together, complete with where to get the gear you need to grab the look for yourself.

Steampunk hunter

Dreamy over at Drunkard's Regalia has put together this awesome steampunk-themed hunter set, appropriately modeled on an undead hunter.

While the racials of the undead may not lend themselves that well to us hunters, their punk hairdos and antiquated flesh make undead the ideal steampunk hunter. I totally want to see someone do some machinima with this look.

The gear used for this set includes:

Dwarven frost hunter

Warvektova shared his dwarven frost hunter transmog set on Reddit, complete with Loque'nahak to match the look -- after all, pets are the ultimate accessory.

This is a perfect look for the adventuring dwarf, totally suited to our snowy homeland and the frozen mountains that we like to call home. The gear used in this stylish dwarven set, aside from the ruggedly handsome dwarf himself, includes:

Dark ranger look

Sesamee over at Shooting Azeroth put together this dark ranger look, which is of course most appropriate for female elf types. If you ever wanted to look like a brooding but not-yet-undead Sylvanas, this is the look that should make all your dreams possible.

You can put together this look for your own dark ranger using the following gear:

For bonus points, combine this look with some betrayal and the slaughtering of your people.

Ebonhold set

This one also comes from Shooting Azeroth, and though it isn't a homemade unique look, Sesameee does such a phenomenal job with her screenshots that I had to highlight at least one more. She also goes out of her way to find just the right pet to match each transmogrification look.

This transmog is made with the following:

Ironhide for the Horde

Never let it be said that I ignore my dirty and smelly Horde hunter brethren. I started this transmog inspiration gallery with a Horde character, and so too will we end it with one of the ugly races (i.e., not dwarf).

Bauxite over at Aspect of the Dork was designed to be the ideal for the Horde set, a variant on the Ironhide set, composed mostly of green BoE drops.

You can make your own Horde hunter set with the following items:

And as always, when an orc walks in the room, the party's over. Do you guys have any of your own awesome hunter transmogs? If so, link 'em in the comments!
