Dustforce cleaning out Steam's valves on Jan. 17 for PC, Mac to follow


The PC version of Dustforce, the sweeping side-scroller from indie studio Hitbox Team, is set to launch January 17 for $9.99 on Steam, with a Mac update to follow soon after. Dustforce has more than 50 disgusting levels for your janitor to spruce up, and will have an online leaderboard, 4-player local multiplayer modes and a soothing original soundtrack.

Dustforce received an honorable mention from the IGF for Excellence in Visual Art, so even if cleaning isn't your thing, we bet you can still enjoy some pretty, stylized gameplay.


Hitbox Team announces the launch date for

Brisbane, Australia – Jan 10th, 2012 – Independent studio Hitbox Team is excited to announce the global release for their upcoming game, Dustforce via the platform, Steam for $9.99 on January 17th for PC (Windows), with an update for Mac shortly after.

Clean up the world with style! As an acrobatic janitor, you are an adept force against dust and disorder. Leap and dash off walls and ceilings, and deftly traverse precarious environments. Cleanse each level swiftly and thoroughly to achieve mastery in this 2D sweep-'em-up plarformer.

The full game boasts over 50 levels varying in difficulty from elegant exploration to intense challenges for even the most hardcore players. Dustforce will offer an online leaderboard where you can instantly watch replays of every players' best attempts. Four-player local multiplayer will also be included with game modes like "King Of The Hill" and "Dust Rush" for loads of addicting dust-cleaning fun.

To promote the release date, Hitbox Team has released a promotional trailer and two screenshots featuring a myriad of beautiful environments accompanied by an original soundtrack, as well as showcasing multiplayer. "We've been having a lot of fun designing the multiplayer mode," explains Hitbox's Terence Lee. "I think we've found the right balance between movement and combat, which makes for really exciting battles"
