WRUP: Indie break

The Joystiq Indie Pitch FTL Faster than Light

Last week on WRUP we mentioned the approach of gaming's monsoon season. Beyond the triple-A games with multi-million dollar marketing budgets, there's also a ton of high-quality indie selections available. Take a look through our indie pitch archives.

What's everyone playing?

  • Alexander Sliwinski (@Sliwinski): Writing up my Dishonored and XCOM reviews and then playing more Borderlands 2 co-op. I still keep being told I should play FTL.

  • David Hinkle (@DaveHinkle): Madden Ultimate Team and DOA 5 have taken up most of my free time as of late, but I plan on setting some time aside this weekend to finally start Transformers: Fall of Cybertron or Darksiders 2. And I'm gonna see Patton Oswalt on Saturday night!

  • JC Fletcher (@jcfletcher): In a rare moment of freedom before my October reviews start, I'm hoping to remember how to play Nights.

  • Jess Conditt (@JessConditt): Borderlands 2 if I'm feeling saucy, Gateways if I'm not.

  • Jordan Mallory (@Jordan_Mallory): I'm slowly (but surely) becoming not terrible at Dead or Alive 5, so there'll surely be more time spent unlocking costumes over the weekend.

  • Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I would really like to spend some time with Dishonored, but I'm in the process of reviewing that OTHER assassin game. Or maybe I'll just play Nights: Into Dreams.

  • Mike Schramm (@MikeSchramm): I'm at a wedding in Tampa Bay, so it's all iPhone stuff: Kingdom Rush, Happy Street, and God of Blades.

  • Mike Suszek (@MikeSuszek): I'm continuing my winning ways in my Madden 13 league (3-0!), my losing ways in fantasy football (0-4!), and my hopeless ways in NHL 13.

  • Richard Mitchell (@TheRichardM): Two games that are creepy for different reasons: XCOM and Fatal Frame 3. And maybe Cave Story from the eShop (is that creepy?).

  • Sinan Kubba (@Shoinan): Having made approximately zero progress since last week, still Borderlands 2 and LittleBigPlanet 2.

  • Steven Wong: More Borderlands 2. It's still shooting aliens, right?

  • Xav de Matos (@Xav): Celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving (which is this Monday) by fighting as Canada's special ops team, Joint Task Force 2, in the Medal of Honor: Warfighter beta.
