EA CEO John Riccitiello resigns

John Riccitiello, CEO of Electronic Arts, has submitted his resignation today. According to a public statement by EA board chairman Larry Probst, Riccitiello's last day will be March 30, and Probst will serve as the executive chairman through the transition as the board searches for a new CEO candidate.

Of course, the statement goes on to proclaim EA's "rock solid" strategy and future, as this news could certainly work against the company's reputation. Or, it could mean a bright new future with a new leader at the helm.
