One Shots: You were saying?

If there's a class in Star Wars: The Old Republic that has a monopoly on the best lines, banter, and dialogue, it would have to be the Smuggler. Reader Danielle sent us in this nicely framed shot: "Here's my confident, sassy Smuggler striking a pose as he interrupts a conversation."

But isn't interrupting a conversation... rude? He shouldn't do that, then. He should wait patiently until both parties are finished, and perhaps raise his hand and wait to be acknowledged by his betters. Or he could totally interrupt their boring chit-chat.

The One Shots column is a time capsule of some of the most important MMO moments in history, and you're about to witness the latest entries into this hallowed vault. Steel yourself and prepare to gaze in wonder at the peak of human ingenuity and the print screen key!

Here's a game that we don't see too much of these days: Pirates of the Burning Sea. It's kind of a shame that this title didn't take off in a bigger way, although there is a small but dedicated community of scallywags who do love the setting and mechanics.

The Big D sent us in this picture of his ship approaching Skull Rock. We don't know what happened after that moment, but I think it's safe to assume that the rock came to life, lurched out of the sea on a giant skeleton body, devoured the pirate vessels, and then began a six-thousand-mile-long march to world domination. Or he just sailed by it.

Reader Colton sent in a handful of screenshots with the following explanation that I see a lot of in the One Shots inbox: "I'm not sure how you normally do this, and it was so hard to narrow down my massive screenshot folder to just one, so I'm sending you three images! There are so many different things to do in Lord of the Rings Online, and I've been having a blast since signing up for VIP earlier this month. From fighting epic battles to gathering chickens and everything in between, Middle-earth has got it all!"

If you're curious, I chose Colton's picture of a hearty defense of Weathertop. Pose for the camera, folks, and then go back to slaughtering spirits!

Part of me can't wait until Firefall comes out just so that we can get even more screenshots of this gorgeous-looking game. Reader Ryan, all decked out in the latest cyber-wear from Adidas, created his new Facebook profile pic from a rooftop view.

"Here's a really nice shot of my character looking out over Sunken Harbor," he said. "Still wondering how much the hot dogs are in that stadium!"

How much? It's all the money, Ryan. All the money.
