One Shots: Dusting crops with the boys

We're going to begin today's column with a very important announcement. It's so important that I'm breaking all the rules putting very important announcement in bold like that, but hopefully you're paying attention by now. We had a glitch with our email that pretty much blocked all submissions for One Shots since September 22nd, and so I never received them. I'm so sorry this has happened, but if you sent in a picture since then, I'd urge you to do it again. Thanks!

Meanwhile, Captain Matt paid a few thousand credits to go on a once-in-a-lifetime trip with Han and Chewie in Star Wars Galaxies. "Here's me going into lightspeed with the closest of friends!"

As Matt's living it up playing space chess with a Wookiee and getting his arms torn off, we've got many very important submissions to check out after the jump!

Speaking of space and how insanely terrifying it is, reader Pavle distributed a hefty pamphlet to our staff warning us of solar radiation, extreme temperatures, explosive decompression, and galactic C'thulu. No, wait, that's a different email. Pavle actually wanted us to admire his purdy starship while we certainly don't think about what planet-devouring monster lurks just off-camera.

"I am a big space enthusiast, and having beautiful backdrops is a must-have in a sci-fi MMO," Pavle wrote. "You can say many things about Star Trek Online, but space does look pretty. Here is my cruiser in all of its (low-level) glory."

Considering the volume of Guild Wars 2 photos that y'all send in, I've noticed that there's a running theme that pops up quite often: People love to get their picture taken in front of Divinity's Reach. It's kind of like Disney World's Cinderella's Castle, only with a poorer building code.

Well, here's Cameron and her sleek Elementalist checking out the view. Unfortunately for her, dragon C'thulu lurked just off-camera waiting for the right moment to strike.

"This is my bard at my favorite location in Aion, Lake Id," reader Lux wrote about our next screenie. "It was pretty dangerous taking this as there are mobs littered everywhere -- and it's a PvP area to boot! After numerous aggros, I finally managed to capture a decent one!"

What's the best-looking MMO of them all? Everyone's got an opinion, but mine must change the fastest of all because you guys keep convincing me with these incredible pictures that yours is the artistic master. I really like this one for its lush colors and lack of terrible old gods.

This week's screenshot submission is to be expected: Re-send in any photos you submitted in the past month with a note about how bad I should feel for putting you out. Or you could just send in one and pretend to be put out because I wouldn't notice the difference. I'm going to start drinking now to prepare myself.

Want to be featured in a future edition of One Shots? Send your favorite MMO screenshots to oneshots@massively.com, and don't forget to include your name, the name of the game, and a description of the scene. Large, colorful, UI-free shots that tell a story and really show off the game make for the best images. Look ma, we brought back One Shots!
