Jukebox Heroes: Reader request 3

jukebox heroes

Since it's our very last Jukebox Heroes column of the year on the very last day of the year, I thought it would be most appropriate to open up the reader request lines once again and feature MMO tunes that are your favorites. If you'd like to put in your own request for the next time I run one of these columns, please list your favorite MMO music track in the comments along with an explanation as to what you love about it!

So check out what your fellow soundtrackophiles appreciate and stay tuned for a totally rockin' 2014!

1. Star Wars Galaxies: The Warming Sunrise

This one is from reader Queetz: "Here is another track from Star Wars Galaxies that I really like. It's called 'The Warming Sunrise,' and if I recall, it plays when the day/night cycle turns to day. It can be quite soothing when your just in the planet doing your stuff, then as the day cycle comes in, you hear the music. I miss SWG!"

2. Lord of the Rings Online: What Will Be

This is one of the new Helm's Deep pieces as suggested by David101. "Go and check out 'What Will Be' on Soundcloud now now now!" he wrote. "It's my fave track so far!"

3. RuneScape: Wending Through the Willows

"Wending Through the Willows is a RuneScape track that is actually a very beautiful song that could probably sell tens of thousands of copies on iTunes if Jagex put it on Pandora or something," Gaming_Junk said. I don't know about that, but it is pretty, no doubt.

4. Aion: Death Waltz

Sean1 was a fan of this tune when I was discussing Halloween tracks a few weeks back: "Death Waltz is pretty eerie and awesome as well."

I concur. We actually featured it in a recent episode of our Battle Bards podcast (/plug).

5. Final Fantasy XI: Ronfaure

"For the love of God, please add Ronfaure!" Correllis1 begged. "All baby kitties thank you. /bow"

6. Star Wars Galaxies: Nym's Property

One final track to round out our list today, this one from Zaniac: "Always loved this, and it became a lament to SWG in my mind, so I always feel the sadness when I hear it again."

If you have a favorite MMO music track, link to it in the comments and let me know why it's special to you!

MMOs aren't just about looks; they also have great soundtracks that often go unnoticed. Heroes don't stand for that! Every Tuesday, Jukebox Heroes will check out a game's soundtrack and feature the best tunes to share and discuss. Your DJ for the hour is Justin Olivetti, and the request line is open!
