The Queue: In which we don't non-stop chain pull

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

This is going to turn into a larger editorial, but it's good for a Queue intro, too:

Why do people these days get upset over a night of wiping on a new boss. In my day a month of learning on Archimonde was standard and expected.

One day and people get angry? What. The. Heck.

Heather asked:

This has been making the rounds in guild and Real ID chat...what is with all the tanks who are rushing through dungeons lately, and I mean not stopping for anything. This is Randoms mind you, not challenge modes. Isolated phenomenon, or the general tanking attitude these days?

Excuse my language, but this kind of unannounced behavior from tanks in randoms really pisses me off.

I know people doing them now are over geared, for the most part, and many have ran the instances a lot on their mains and alts, but plowing through things non-stop without even asking about it (which I've seen way too much of) is really rude and inconsiderate. If the healer isn't up for such a run, then it is damn near a panic attack to try to heal in that situation.

There is a time and place for that, and I encourage people to run like that with their guildies and friends. But in a random LFG? Maybe, but only if everyone is okay with it. Otherwise wait a few moments between pulls, and at least be paying close attention to how things are going early on in the run.

Jeff asked:

Do you have quests you keep in your log, either because you never can seem to get to them, or you just keep for sentimental value?

I've got that one quest from Eye of Eternity that I need to finish, but never get around to. Other than that, no, I really hate having unnecessary quests in my log. It muddles it up too much.

I prefer things free and breezy.

Grpco asked:

It is true that Blizzard has increased the drop rate for certain mounts like the Fiery Warhorse from Karazhan?

Yes, but it's gone from a very small amount to a still very small amount. As someone pointed ou in the comments, it's essentially gone from 0.1% to 1%. You're still going to need to farm it for a heck of a long time to get the drop.

Then again, if you have 10 characters capable of farming it, you should theoretically see the mount after 2 1/2 months of farming the raid on every alt, which isn't bad...

This change also happened quite a while ago. I want to say sometime in early Cataclysm...

Nick asked:

Is there a reason battle and commanding shout only last for 5 minutes and not 60 like other buffs?

I've been wondering this myself lately. Part of it is, I'm sure, is that they have a rage generation component, so they should be cast more often (at least in such situations that require rage). I also think that it's just part of the warrior's kit, and it doesn't make a lot of sense for a "shout" to have an effect an hour from now.

Medros asked:

Do you recommend finishing up Lion's Landing quests before 5.2 hits?

I do! There's going to be a lot more story in patch 5.2, and to get there you'll need to finish the story on patch 5.1. This whole expansion is turning out to be much more episodic than we're used to in WoW, and that's pretty neat.

In fact, the questing and 'episodes' taking place in WoW almost feel like in another MMO we all played for two months, in a galaxy far, far away.

Josh asked:

Why is this Q and A column spelled Queue which means line. Wouldn't it be more clever to spell it Que, which is actually a question type word, in Spanish anyway?

Because there's a Queue of questions that get stored up for us to answer, and then we do! Eventually. Lately there's been a lot of questions. Remember to keep asking them if we don't answer (or if no one does). Eventually your question will be replied to.
