The Queue: The Monster With 21 Faces

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Matthew Rossi is fielding your questions and statements today.

I'm not talking about some new WoW boss. The Monster with 21 Faces is the name of a villain from a series of novels by Japanese mystery author Edogawa Rampo. However, imagine if someone started actually committing successful crimes while calling him, her, or themselves the Joker and you'll have what happened in the case of the Monster with 21 Faces. You see, someone really did commit crimes using that name, almost 20 years after Rampo's death, and whoever they may have been the Monster with 21 Faces was never caught.

The Monster with 21 Faces targeted two of the biggest names in food production in Japan, including kidnapping the head of Glico Morinaga, sent mocking letters to the media and press, successfully laced food with extremely toxic substances, and in short behaved, again, exactly like the Joker. They only stopped their unusual criminal rampage when the police superintendent of Shiga Prefecture committed suicide by burning himself to death.

The case has remained unsolved to this day. Anyway, how's about that World of Warcraft?

BaronOfTheLake asks:
Has anyone else, especially melee, had problems trying to click on things that are somewhere else since the new patch came out? I've noticed it especially on the blobs in Primordius (every time I try to attack one, it says that I'm not facing the right direction or that I'm too far away) and in pick up dead fish quests in Golden Lotus dailies. It isn't a lag issue, as my latency is the same. It's just super disorienting and frustrating, as I like to be precise with my movements and attacks.

Yes, I have had this happen to me. It was happening all last night during raid, actually. Other raiders seemed to be DCing a lot around the same time, but I have no idea if it was connected, and no idea what causes it or if it's a bug or an addon or what have you.

Puntable1 asks:
Is the 5.3 content going away with 5.4? More importantly, will the Ghaz'rooki pet be unavailable after this happens?

To my knowledge, no one has definitively said that yes, it's going away in 5.4, but it's safe to assume that if not in 5.4, then soon after. Then again, we have no idea what, if anything, they're going to do to revamp Horde zones that currently are built around Garrosh being Warchief... will they revamp Stonetalon, Norther Barrens, etc etc or just leave them alone? No clue. It's possible that they'll leave the Escalation quests in for a long time, or that they'll take them out as soon as 5.4 drops. I wouldn't plan for it lasting longer, so get your pets and transmog gear now if you're trying to.

MCerberus asks:
Considering what we know about the mist around Pandaria now... does that mean mistwalkers are old god minions?

Interesting that you should ask, because the short answer is "I have no idea" - Torjar's Bane from the Hemet Nesingwary quests in Valley of the Four Winds comes off as being somewhat Old God or Sha related, with its mind control and sinister attitudes, but the three intelligent Mistlurkers from the Townlong Steppes. Arconiss. Orbiss and Golgoss seem fairly benign. In the end I'd have to say the jury is still out on the Mistlurkers. They could predate the Mists entirely, after all, mist exists in other parts of Azeroth.

Now, if you meant the Mistwalker monk specialization, yes. They're all Old God minions. So are all rogues, paladins, druids, mages, priests, death knights, warlocks, hunters, all other monk specializations, shamans and... well, not warriors. Warriors are okay. But everybody else is a minion of the Old Gods.

Alexey asks:
Speaking of heroic scenarios, what's your most/least favourite one?
Everyone I know hates the ships.

My favorite heroic scenario is Battle on the High Seas. But don't worry, we don't actually know one another, so your statement is still accurate. My least favorite is Blood on the Snow, because the only three I've gotten to run are Battle on the High Seas, Blood on the Snow, and Dark Heart of Pandaria and I love DHOP. I don't dislike Blood on the Snow, mind you, I just don't like it as much as the other two.

Ron2 asks:
I know we were talking about this before the patch, but nobody had an answer. Can I invite some Battletag friends over to fill out my Heroic Scenario group?

Yes you can.

EWOKinLA says:
I really dislike the idea of an "appear offline" mode.

You are asking Blizzard to lie to your friends because you don't have the spine to say, "I am just chilling tonight".

Disgusting.

Well, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I have to say it takes more than an offline mode on my friend's list to disgust me. I personally wouldn't mind an appear offline mode for those times I'm playing one of my random alts and I want to just be alone for a few minutes without having to say six times "No, I'm not down for Icecrown, I'm just taking some screenshots while I eat" - it's not about lying so much as it's about the human tendency to forget that multiple people exist and it can be wearying to have to make the same explanation six or more times.

But hey, if it disgusts you, don't use it.

Matthew2 asks:
Also, where did Frostmourne come from?

Kil'jaeden had the Nathrezim make it, as well as the entire suit of armor the Lich King was trapped in (including the Helm of Domination) in order to contain what was left of Ner'zhul after Kil'jaeden got done slowly tearing him apart physically while expanding his mind with pure necromantic power.

And that's it for me this time. Have a happy patch 5.3. Stay away from the Monster with 21 Faces.
