Weekly Webcomic Wrapup takes bugs over turnips

I've noticed more folks blatantly asking one another about their turnip prices in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The stalk market isn't anything new to the series, as the option to ride the highs and lows of turnip prices has been one of the reliable ways to make money in Animal Crossing.

Personally, I can't get into it, not when catching golden and rainbow stags on the island during the game's nighttime phases makes for a nice haul of bells, all without having to worry about time-shifting the game and spoiling turnips. Do those of you playing New Leaf feel the same? Am I missing out on the stalk market?
