WRUP: Wild speculation and explosions

WRUP Wild speculation and explosions

It's been an explosive week, what with fireworks dotting the horizon and such. For all that it's been a while, we should continue to be thankful for the brave men and women who secured our independence and freedom... and continue to do so today.

The overthrow of Garrosh seems assured. And while we can't know for certain what will happen to a deposed Hellscream, the real interesting part of the story approaches. What's going to happen to the Horde? To divine that answer, your intrepid WoW Insider staff turned to our crystal balls and wild speculation to guess at what comes next.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) This weekend will be spent catching up on household errands and whatnot, with a little gameplay in between if I can manage it. I think it is looking very much like a cookie-baking weekend as well. Bonus answer: I don't know, to be honest, but I know that so far, it seems like having a sole leader hasn't really helped the Horde all that much. Thrall tried his best, but he doubted that his vision for the Horde was what it really needed to succeed. Garrosh let absolute power go completely to his head. I don't know if they'd want to put another sole leader up after him -- maybe a council of sorts, some kind of group of representatives would be the best bet with the least amount of squabbling. But who knows?

Chase Hasbrouck (@alarondruid, @alaronmonk) My guild just killed Lei Shen this week, so...now what? :) I just got into the Card Hunter beta, so I'll be giving that a try. As for the Warchief, I think Vol'jin is the obvious way the story is going, but I'd love to see the position just retired completely.

Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) I'm working on leveling my monk now. I'm trying out Brewmaster tanking and it has a few more buttons than I'd like, but there's a fun flow to it. I'll probably tank a few more dungeons on him this weekend. On the bonus question, my guess is that it's either Vol'jin or Thrall. Non-Blood Elves would never accept Lor'themar, no-one trusts Sylvanas farther than they can throw her, and no-one else has been developed enough for it. But in the end, the question of the next warchief isn't my main concern. Whoever it is, I hope the Alliance puts the thumbscrews on them to withdraw from Ashenvale and Gilneas and make reparations for the survivors of Hillsbarad and Theramore. We helped you take down Garrosh. It's time to pay up, buddy.

Joe Perez (@lodurzj) playing the "take out large loan and receive a car" game this weekend. Hoping I win big. Been playing a lot of Rogue Legacy and having a blast with that, I am terrible at the game but it is so much fun.

Speculation on the new Warchief, well, I could go with Basic Campfire, I hear they've been a contender for a number of years now. It would have to be an Orc or Troll, I think that's part of the ceremony of it, otherwise I would love to see Baine Bloodhoof take up the reins, I just accept that will not be the case. It seems like Vol'jin is the logical choice. He has a severe love for the horde and the people of it. Tries to be level headed leader as much as possible, but will defend his people to the last bit of breath in his body, and because he's a Shadow Hunter probably beyond that as well. I also think that it will come just in time for another rising big bad that will unite the two factions towards a common goal, at least for a little bit. I'm predicting the new Warchief will have their negotiations with the Alliance interrupted by something Sargeras related.

Kristin Marshall (@kristin) I'm working on maxing out my monk - the levels are flying by! I should be getting into Pandaria this weekend. As for the bonus question - I have no idea. I have a soft spot for Sylvanas (it's complicated), but I know that's not happening. I can see Vol'jin taking over. Who knows?

Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) More RAF levelling! I've made a US account, and am RAF-ing with a friend, it's super-fast, we've got 2 characters from 0-80 in under 20 hours just chain-running dungeons, and it's pretty fun too! So the priest is next, as the shammy (inevitable first choice for me) builds up her rested XP. And then, who knows!

As far as the next warchief, I'd really love to see Sylvanas take over, and make the Horde really properly insane and evil. Then maybe, just maybe, the Alliance might get a good story as they try to take her down. I feel like some more major characters need to die to rejuvenate the inevitable storylines.

Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel) I've got mostly family stuff to do this weekend. Bonus: Abasik Campfire

Sarah Pine (@ilaniel) I got the Myst complete pack on GoG this weekend for about $5, so I launched a Myst masterpiece game and have been having fun seeing how much I remember about how to solve the puzzles. Not much, but I'm working on it.

I think I wrote some articles back in the day about your bonus question! But it really boils down to: I have no idea.
