A note of caution, however: Windows 8 is not listed among the compatible OSes. Of course, since the absurd $13 shipping fee eats up most of the savings, you're best off picking one up at a brick-and-mortar Target.

This mid-range, web-connected HDTV sports three HDMI ports, two USB 2.0 jacks and rocks a sparkling LED display with a respectable 120Hz refresh rate. When it comes time to hop online, you can choose between the built-in WiFi or Ethernet. The deal is good through September 1st, unless supplies run out before then.

HP 20-inch Widescreen LED Monitor

Thanks to a significant price cut, this already reasonably priced 20-inch HP monitor is worth a double-take. The 1,600 x 900 resolution won't prep you for the approaching 4K revolution, but it's certainly respectable. We haven't seen any professional reviews of the monitor, but Best Buy's clientele is impressed, giving it a 4.3 stars (out of 5) rating through 219 reviews.

Vizio 37-inch 60Hz 720p LED HDTV

Price: $299.99 (Next best is $348). Free shipping.

While discerning devourers of HD programming and gaming will have a tough time putting up with 720p resolution for their main TV, there's plenty of value in swinging low -- especially if you're looking for a second set. Scoring a 37-inch brand-name LED set for less than $300 is relatively rare. The set has two HDMI inputs, component and composite options, as well as a USB port.

Dell Inspiron 15-inch Laptop

The proliferation of tablets seems to be driving down prices on your old pal, the laptop. This Windows 8-equipped Dell entry, with a 1.6GHz Celeron processor, includes 4GB DDR3 memory, a 320GB hard drive, two USB 3.0 inputs and 802.11b/g/n WiFi. The specs are decidedly low-end, but if you're worried more with banging out term papers or shopping on eBay, than you are with plowing through Bioshock: Infinite, this HP is worth strong consideration.

If you've got gamer kids, you know all too well what Skylanders are. Activision's cash-cow franchise is clearly all about the upsell. You've got to run out and buy action figures that double as on-screen protagonists and, of course, the games will be much more fun if you pony up for another character or three... right? Best Buy's three-for-the-price-of-two deal makes the scheme less economically painful.
