Introducing the new Joystiq Code of Conduct and Community Manager

My name is Anthony John Agnello. For the past seven years, I've been writing about video games as a reporter and critic for a number of websites, magazines, broadcasting out of the deep wastes of New York State. As of this December I am also taking over as Joystiq's Community Manager. This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. What's cool is that we will be actively shaping that friendship together, pushing and prodding it like so much ever-changing clay. Immediate change will happen first in the comments sections of Joystiq articles.
Comments make up the very foundation of the community as it is today and what it will be. As with comments everywhere on the web, though, ours can be turbulent. The Joystiq crew and I have conceived of a new Code of Conduct that outlines how we will be moderating comments going forward. As the title of the page suggests, our ethos is simple: Be excellent to each other.
