Risk of Rain's blend of pain and pleasure coming to PlayStation Vita

Hopoo Games' punishing but satisfying action-platformer Risk of Rain is migrating over to the PlayStation Vita, publisher Chucklefish announced today.

The news was first revealed on Twitter by Chucklefish's Ashton Raze, the lead writer of Starbound, and confirmed by Sony Senior Business Development Manager Shahid Ahmad. No timetable for the port has been shared.

Risk of Rain follows the lone survivor of a train crash on a mysterious alien planet inhabited by a slew of hostile monsters. The goal is to survive as long as possible, but with each passing moment Risk of Rain ramps up the difficulty. In our review, we lauded Risk of Rain for its "hard-won thrill" and said that if you can "accept that challenge, if you can pick yourself up and start all over again whenever you fail, you will lose hours to Risk of Rain. Whether you mean to or not."
