Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes zips onto Steam today

"Steam, are you okay? Steam? Steaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam!"

Calm down, Colonel. Steam is still safe and secure ahead of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes' arrival later today. The Windows PC port of the prologue to MGS 5: Phantom Pain is cleared for landing at 10AM PT/1PM ET, and with a price tag of $20.

Konami confirmed the Steam version of Big Boss' return supports 4K resolution and comes with Japanese audio as well as Kiefer Sutherland-flavored English. Also, as on the consoles, Ground Zeroes save data transfers over to the upcoming Steam version of Phantom Pain. That means prisoners and certain other characters you find in Ground Zeroes will feature in Phantom Pain as staff for your Mother Base fortress. Additionally, Snake's Ground Zeroes costume will be available as part of the follow-up's fashion range.

In our review on PS4, Joystiq's big boss Ludwig Kietzmann deemed Ground Zeroes a "fiscal test of patience." - a test now at a reduced price on all platforms.

"The undoubtable quality of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes feels carved from a bigger, better game," Ludwig said, "and perhaps that makes it a better showcase for players who don't know their Snakes from their Otacons."
