The Queue: Tear a foreman

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

I'm designing a board game about terraforming. What are you guys up to?

Paggit asked:

Do we know if garrisons are going to faction specific or are they going to depend on your race.

Right now there's a human-looking one for Alliance and an orc-looking one for Horde. The devs said they'd like to do racial-specific ones but it's going to come down to time.

Drewbob asked:

One last observation: what race of tiny people did Gul'dan harvest all those tiny skulls for his necklace from? I didn't think gnomes were indigenous to Draenor.

Teeny-tiny skulls are a common adornment, especially on orcish armor. We have no idea who those skulls on Gul'dan's armor belong to. Gnomes weren't known to the orcs at that point. Draenei plates are part of their skull, so they couldn't even be young draenei, and they don't seem to have the fangs to be orcs either. It is a mystery.

morvackthemountmimic asked:

I have a question for the que. Are there any open spots in writing for wow insider? If so, how do you apply? I haven't seen a gold capped article in a while (though to be fair, I haven't looked yet today).

There aren't any openings at present, but if we do have openings we'll put up an announcement post, as always.

SallyBowls asked:

Why does WI use the term "5-man?" You have editors vigilantly guarding the world from Oxford commas, what not have them correct this? Have you no California readers? Some homages to political correctness are strained. But using "5-person" is not. Besides "man" is so often incorrect, not only with gender but with age or maturity.

Anyone who follows me on Twitter knows I'm all for this, but often end up slipping because very old habits die very hard. I personally prefer "5-player". I'm sure it seems silly or needless to some people, but especially in today's gaming market, where female players equal or outnumber males in many genres/communities, "man" being the default doesn't really fly anymore.
