The Queue: Hit it hard and hit it fast

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

The candy aisle, that is! Valentine's candy is half off or more!

JohnO asked:

If the friends and family testing version is the Alpha and select people get to test the Beta, then is the version of the game that we buy just the Gamma test version when we all get to first log in?

Usually, once a game is ready for the general public, it "goes gold" and stops being given testing phase designations like alpha, beta, etc. However, some might refer to the "release candidate" stage as delta or gamma. You can read a little more about the software release cycle here.

BapoThePaladin asked:

So question about the site. On the right part of the screen when you are in an article, the Around Azeroth link for about 3months or so has been a picture of people on turtles. I know the actual Around Azeroth gets updated daily, so is the little link ever going to update, or no?

We had an issue with the preview link and our now-infamous gallery system that made it...unpredictable. Right now the static image is probably going to stay, at least until we figure out a better way to make it update and send you to the right Around Azeroth.

hyde_v asked:

With Hit and Dodge going away, does this mean we will always hit our targets? And what about Monks? Dodge is a very important part of their make up.

You know, I thought there was an official answer to this question, but I just couldn't find it. Anybody with a good memory out there want to field this one?

redandead asked:

with WoD being an alternate past that we are dealing with in our present, will their be chances for those lore characters who lost love ones to once again be with them again, will there be survivors in that WoD that were not survivors in our timeline basically?

If they're an orc or draenei, maybe, but none of the other races had stepped foot on Draenor at the time. Things have gone differently in this timeline, so it's possible that some people who were dead may be alive, or vice versa.

battermannn asked:

Out of curiosity, why does Olivia Grace get all the big updates on this site? I've been coming to this site for over 5 years, it's even my homepage, but I've only just recently seen her starting to post stuff over the past few months. How did she get promoted to the main editor of the site, when basically coming out of nowhere? I mean, she's British. Don't you think that's kinda offensive to Americans to have a British person be in charge of posting all the big updates for WoW? Not to mention she's in charge of the pvp column, apparently. She's admittedly one of the worst pvp players, too. Think about it, if the British took some random American off the streets, whose never seen a game of Cricket, then put them in charge of reporting on each game, how long do you think the Brits would take it before getting offended? What right does an American have to comment on a game that the English invented and hold dear? Especially when he/her is telling them how to play it better, when not even understanding the game him/her self. There are so many good American writers on this site, why can't we get them to post all the biggest breaking news on wow, instead of some random person who just joined the crew.

Feel free to change your homepage to Google.com and never come back.
