The Queue: A whole new (old) world

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Matthew Rossi will be your host today.

I managed to transfer one of my own tauren warriors to the Alpha servers and take a look at what he'd look like in current gear with the new model. I'm frankly pretty damn happy with it - he's a big white bull on live and he's the same on Alpha, just improved. I'm overall very impressed. One of the things I keep doing is riding around and exploring, which led me at one point to ride right into a village full of level 100 and 100 elite mobs. I died a lot as a result - this picture is me waiting out res sickness after realizing I was not getting my body back otherwise.

So what I'm saying is, if you want that feeling of danger we used to get in the old days, keep riding around the north of Frostfire Ridge until you run into level 100 ogres, they will give it to you in spades. You will die. A lot.

Lagowatu asks:
Is Blizzard done with the button bloat trimming, or do you think they might make more cuts yet? I ask because cat druid still has all three very short duration cooldowns I wanted to get rid of or merge: Tiger's Fury, Savage Roar, and Berserk.

Shaman just saw a bunch of stuff get trimmed, so no, they're not done yet. Don't make that mistake. They'll be done when the Beta (and not the Alpha) is done.

Devin asks:
What do you think the odds are that they will bring back the 100% valor buff from the last two weeks? The speed of valor gains from that buff made it seem reasonable to me and I played more of my toons the last few weeks than I have in a while. I'm dreading capping anymore and likely won't even bother at the rate it currently goes.

It's June. The game probably won't be out of beta before November at the earliest. I'd say the chances are extremely good you'll see that buff again. Extremely.

Richard Pocky Kim asks:
Do we know if warriors (Protection in particular) are going to have Multistrike as a baseline stat, for Blood Craze use?

Let's go to the screenshot for that one.

As you can see from the screenshot above, my amount healed by Blood Craze is at zero, and the amount of Multistrike I have on my leveling gear is also zero. So it seems that Multistrike, as a stat, is one that you get entirely from gear with no baseline benefit - either you have gear with Multistrike on it, or you don't, and if you don't than Blood Craze does nothing.

Now, if you're asking will tank gear have Multistrike on it, yes. Not all of it, but there's no real hard and fast 'wear this for tanking, wear that for DPS' plate anymore, so I expect you'll end up with some Multistrike on your set, will you or won't you.

Chrth asks:
Q4TQ: What's more economical/efficient nowadays: actually trying to get the Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion to drop, or buying it from the AH for 5k?

While I'm sure it's not hard to solo the various mobs to get the book, especially for a lock geared past a certain point, I gotta say 5k gold for that book sounds ludicrously cheap and far more efficient than farming for it. That's just my opinion, though.

Ward asks:
Why is Khadgar helping the Horde?

That is a good question, Ward. I really have no idea. I assume this is the Khadgar from our timeline, since if it's the Khadgar from the altered timeline of Draenor, it wouldn't even make sense for him to be there - he'd still be apprenticing to Medivh. The fact that this Khadgar not only exists, and seems to help the Horde throughout Frostfire Ridge, points to his being from our timeline and thus, having worked with Horde and Alliance both in Shattrath. His having Atiesh also points to that. But as potentially neutral as that Khadgar may be, it still feels very strange to see the mage of the Alliance Expedition working with the Horde.

Brewmaster Wansu asks:
Despite their methods you think Wrathion is still acting in Azeroth's best interest by trying to make an Anti-Legion Army?

Not only do I not think that, I never did - Wrathion is a black dragon. No matter how 'purified' or 'uncorrupted' he may be, he's still a black dragon acting to manipulate us during the very same Age of Mortals that has rendered his kind sterile and obsolete. He's acting in his own best interest, and worse, he's acting with all the maturity one could expect from a baby dragon, not even a fully grown one. Wrathion is a terrifying little monster, and we can barely even guess at what he'll be like in a few hundred years.

jpmarcotte asks:
What are alternate Hero histories/skins that you want to see in Heroes of the Storm?

I'd like to see Blood Elf Illidan, Terran Marine Arthas, Frostmourne-wielding Tyrael, Cairne Bloodhoof skin over the Tauren Chieftain, and a Sylvanas skin of some kind (either over Kerrigan or the Demon Hunter, if not just including Sylvanas in the game herself). I'd also like a Barbarian in Onslaught, warrior Tier 6.

And that's the Queue for Friday, June 13th.
