Shin Megami Tensei 4 delayed once more in Europe

Atlus pushed back the European release of Shin Megami Tensei 4 to October, fueling the idea that when game and continent finally meet, it'll be a universe-imploding, hell-frozen-over act of irrevocable consequence. The 2013 3DS JRPG was due to launch this month in Europe after a year of silence about it ever reaching the region.

To Atlus' credit, PR Manager John Hardin explained the delay was due to a few "last-minute issues specific to the EU version, and the studio's keenly aware of what's been a long wait.

"No one likes delays," Hardin wrote on TwitLonger. "Our fans in Europe have been waiting for SMT4 for a *very* long time, and it pains us to have to move the release date back even further. I have talked to a few of you on Twitter, I've seen the angry posts on Reddit, NeoGAF, Facebook, etc., and wanted to be as direct as I could. We truly feel awful having to say 'wait a little longer' for a game you've been so zealously patient for, but there is no other recourse. We're doing everything we can to get the game out in Europe as fast as we can, so please bear with us."

When SMT4 does hit Europe's eShop and the universe comes crashing to an inevitable and perhaps inequitable end, the good news is the game will have a cut price of £18/20 euros. It'll also include all the previously released DLC, minus pre-order bonus armors that were tied to certain retailers in North America. It will, however, only be available as a download and not on retail shelves.
