We were given an extensive tour of EverQuest's upcoming Seeds of Destruction expansion by Lead Designer Ryan Barker. He introduced us to several of the game's new zones and enemies, as well as its new tank-or-healer-NPC-for-hire system. We posted all the info, our impressions, 38 exclusive images, and one video in our blow-out hands-on preview. It's a must-read for EverQuest devotees.

Jumpgate Evolution is both a sequel and a reboot -- a reinvention of NetDevil's original space MMO, Jumpgate. In our hands-on first impressions preview, we checked out what was new and what was old, and were the first to experience many of the game's features.

When we went to PAX this year, we got to experiment with Meteor Games' innovative Twin Skies under guidance by CEO Adam Powell and Lead Designer Aaron Matthew. The free-to-play/subscription hybrid tries daring new things with regards to community building and crafting, and it offers a web portal overflowing with social features and Flash games that affect the game world. Twin Skies wasn't the only game we checked out at PAX; we also spent an hour playing NCsoft's Aion, in which players are angel-like beings that can fly around the game world. The flying mechanics and excellent character creation set Aion apart from competing games -- read our full impressions to find out more.

Cryptic Studios' spiritual successor to its successful City of Heroes is Champions Online, an action-oriented game with insanely robust customization options (as is Cryptic's forté). We played through the Stronghold Prison and Snake Gulch zones and came away with a good sense for the gameplay and features -- and we played on an Xbox 360 controller, as the game will be released on both the PC and Xbox 360 platforms. Read our impressions of the game and the control experience by clicking the link below.

It's expansion season in MMO land, with World of Warcraft's Wrath of the Lich King and The Lord of the Rings Online's Mines of Moria due out in November. We've spent a lot of time in Moria, both in the closed beta test and before it. We've got three articles of interest to show for it: hands-on impressions from the game's PAX premiere, a video tour of the halls of Moria, and an exclusive developer-guided tour. Between the three, we touch on tons of new stuff -- most of all the vast, gorgeous cave of Moria, the largest seamless zone in any MMO. Enjoy!
