Gather your supplies. Feel free to use different paint colors, buttons for eyes, etc.
Begin painting your doll. Be sure to print out a picture so that you know what to paint. If you mess up, you can simply paint over the acrylic.
When you're done painting, you might have something that looks like this.. or a little more realistic.
Cut 3 pieces of muslin in 1" strips that are about 2 yards long. Cut two of those strips in half. You should have 5 strips total (2 legs, 2 arms, 1 loin). I used some really dull scissors, because I didn't want a clean cut.
Wrap each piece of muslin around the limbs. Use Mod Podge to glue the ends of the pieces in place.
When you're wrapping the loin, you'll also want to leave some ends out on each side to wrap around the knee area about two times.
When you're done wrapping, it should look similar to this.
Next you'll want to cut the excess paper on the underside of the Pledge duster. I used two duster refills for the hair and I also cut about 2-3 inches off of each duster.
Clean off your blue and black brushes in a little bit of water. Don't throw it away!
Dip your hands into your paint water and rub them on the dusters. This will give them a dirty look.
Glue the hair pieces on with Mod Podge.
