Detailed review
Just unboxed 12 hrs ago blatantly clear that the installed launcher will have to go...its fine if you are 3yrs old but even my 6yr old expects first stop definitely must be to root the device. That carousel already grating on me.
Video reasonably good and it sounds better than most phones, the battery life I'm appears to have lost 30% charge while not doing anything????
Scrolling is smooth, wifi hook-up painless and the form factor surprisingly acceptable (I had my doubts).
Amazon might want to consider shipping with a micro Usb cable....must go out and buy one which is a major inconvenience.
Since their plan is to make money on what they will eventually sell to you via this platform, they're not gonna lose much more by bundling in a $4 cable.!!!!
Overall impressions = its cheap and cheerful and will keep my non tech 80yr old mom happy, with email, newspaper/book reading and also the kids engaged in the back of the car on trips.......
But hey .. I own an iPad2 and that, the Fire is NOT.
Will probably buy two more at some point, to band around or keep some other relative happy.
Can't figure out how to use my cloud storage with it either....its early days I guess.
