The ET60 is the LCD counterpart to Panasonic's popular plasma lineup, making it a suitable option for those looking for Panasonic's plasma performance packaged in an LCD panel. In testing the ET60, TelevisionInfo says "content looks fantastic," and PC Mag felt the same, saying "picture quality was sharp and noise-free." Even though most felt the picture quality was good, Trusted Reviews says they "never completely felt satisfied" with black levels, even after some tweaking. If you're looking for a LCD set, the ET60 is a good option with its top notch image quality, but you might need to spend a little on some decent speakers since What Hi-Fi said it delivers that "familiar, poor quality TV sound."

The Panasonic TC-LET60 series is a moderately priced LED HDTV line that delivers a high contrast ratio, inky blacks, and outstanding image detail. You also get a nice selection of Web apps, built-in Wi-Fi, and passive 3D with two sets of glasses.

The Panasonic ET60 is a great performer. While its contrast disappointed us, almost everything else is top-notch. The ET60's strongest area of performance may be its accurate color, but that's not its only strength; superb audio and great motion help this Panasonic excel.

With the TXL47ET60, Panasonic are offering hands-off video processing that doesn’t damage the picture quality for the sake of marketing purposes, as well as truly sleek “glass and metal” styling. That makes the Viera TX-L47ET60B a safe bet for users.

Overall it’s still a likeable enough mid-range TV that combines fashionable design with an outstanding Smart TV interface, a solid online service and some mostly good picture quality, especially in 3D mode.

A balance has to be struck between picture quality and convenience, but we'd judge the Panasonic TX-L47ET60B as slightly too expensive since it doesn't excel on either front ... but the build quality of the Panasonic TX-L47ET60B itself is peerless. And that's really what you're paying for here.

What Hi-Fi Mar 13, 2013

The Panasonic TX-L50ET60B is a good TV, and a solid start to 2013 for Panasonic. We’re big fans of the style and design, the new my Home Screen menu system looks great and Panasonic’s familiar natural, sharp and detailed palette is present and correct.

The onscreen image is rendered accurately and the 3D mode is good. However, the screen response time and contrast are both too low. The model we tested also had problems with clouding, as there are clearly too few LED backlights. This TV therefore loses its third star.

The L47ET60B isn’t cheap, and although its smart TV system is a major improvement over last year’s models and the number of extra features is impressive, passive 3D doesn’t give it the edge over the less expensive E6B model.
