The Panasonic TC-P65ZT60 is here now, and while it isn’t exactly a bargain-basement item, I can’t think of any currently available set of its size likely to produce a better picture on a 2K source. Absolutely recommended!

It may be reassuringly expensive, but the Panasonic TX-P60ZT65 unquestionably offers the best Full HD picture you can buy right now.

Blacks didn't look quite as deep the "absolute" seen on OLED TVs, but they were pretty close. I was also told the ZT60 has a slightly better light-rejecting filter than the VT60, but it was tough to tell any difference in the booth.

Panasonic and Samsung are the last companies left championing plasma technology, which, despite being past its prime, can still produce a damn good picture. It doesn’t hurt that Panasonic gave this display an attractive design as well.

Pair this bad boy with a top of the line Blu-ray player that can deliver a 30MB/s signal and we can't think of much that would make a movie look better. However in the example we saw, Batman: The Dark Knight Rises, was showing plenty of single pixel colour spots in the detail.

The demo we witnessed had the P60ZT60 running a loop of demo footage alongside one of last year's excellent VT50 models. And to say the P60ZT60 crushed its excellent (if one year old) sibling would be a huge understatement.

The new design is sleek and elegant. Picture quality seems to be much the same as last year, with the only improvement we’re aware of this time being an upping of the motion performance – now rated at “3000 FFD” rather than last year’s 2500.

It works well, though the increased sharpness appeared to introduce some processing artefacts. A moving shot of fine hair did include some fizzing around the edges, though it only seems to occur during close-ups.

The best set I've ever used by far. Owned the P58v10, 46XBR2. Looked at ST60, VT60 and previous years models before purchasing. The exceedingly long panel life is one of the best features for my purchase decision: Panasonic claims 30 years until half brightness. Beautiful design, simple and elegant.

I've had many LCD's over the years from Samsung and LG and they've all been adequate, but black levels always lacking. For general TV and sports watching I think I actually prefer LCD and it's bright crisp picture. Whites are pure white and colors really pop on an LCD, but movie watching always...
