Another twofer this week, as XBLA adds a fighting game and a turn-based strategy game to its ever-growing ranks. From SNK's huge library of fighting games, we have King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match. The XBLA version includes online play and will set you back 800 ($10). Meanwhile, Team17 has dropped the sequel to the XBLA version of Worms, which is titled, appropriately enough, Worms 2: Armageddon. The game brings lots of new features to the table -- as well as some old favorites -- and also costs 800 ($10).Watch the latest episode of XBLA in Brief and see which one is screaming for your hard-earned cash.Download the trial version of King of Fighters '98 Ultimate MatchDownload the trial version of Worms 2: Armageddon [iTunes] Subscribe to X3F TV directly in iTunes.[Zune] Subscribe to the X3F TV directly.[RSS] Add the X3F TV feed to your RSS aggregator and have the show delivered automatically.[M4V] Download the M4V directly.

XBLA is dropping a holy hand grenade's worth of violence this week with Worms 2: Armageddon and King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match. Whether you're into vertebrate or spineless carnage, the entry fee to these glorious celebrations of hurt will cost 800 ($10) apiece.Armageddon brings some upgrades to the original Worms XBLA title, so definitely check it out if you're a fan of the series. As for KOF98, the game is about $10 cheaper than the PS2 release, and does support online play -- but there's never a guarantee on how that'll go. %Gallery-46744%

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/xbox/Metal_Slug_7_Arkanoid_Space_Invaders_and_KoF_98_to_XBLA'; On the Xbox Live Arcade news fronts, Microsoft just announced that Taito's Space Invaders Extreme and Arkanoid (with 120 stages and online play) will release to the XBLA this Winter. Also announced was old school racer R-Type and that SNK Playmore's The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match will release Spring of 2009 and Metal Slug 7 will be releasing to the Arcade at a time yet to be determined. Now those, friends, are a few nice Xbox Live Arcade titles to look forward to.

Been jonesing to play more Arkanoid ever since that thing came out back in 1986? It was Breakout on steroids, and ate quarters like Cookie Monster eats chocolate chip cookies. Super Arkanoid and Space Invaders Extreme will be out on XBLA this winter, and it'll be joined next year by Metal Slug 7 , R-Type and The King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match. The games will all be updated with new graphics, music, two-player and online modes, and will do a good job towards filling that vintage hole in your heart. Now Capcom, please give us some Darkstalkers, and we'll be happy.

Recently, the master list of all games to be shown at the Tokyo Game Show 2008 was released and on it is a listing for SNK Playmore's King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match for the XBLA. Yes sir, fighter fanboys can get excited for SNK Playmore's fighting franchise King of Fighters on the Arcade. Delicious, ain't it? Seeing that the game hasn't been officially announced, we aren't certain when it'll release, how much it'll cost or what 360 improvements have been made. But that's what the actual TGS event is for. You know, game specifics and game announcements. Time to practice the fighting art of patience ...[Via Destructoid]
