We love being caffeine-riddled enough to stay up and game all night. We're certainly intrigued to hear that the makers of the immensely popular Red Bull energy drink have signed a collaboration deal with UK developer FreeStyleGames. FreeStyle's Chris Lee says the deal, "goes way beyond in-game advertising deals seen in video games to date" and that they are, "working hand-in-hand to co-develop and design compelling, triple A titles that will be a true reflection of the Red Bull Energy Drink brand." Anyone else conjuring up nostalgic images of Cool Spot, featuring 7 UP's mascot? We'll have to wait and see if FreeStyle's collaboration will bear any similar surprises.[Via Eurogamer]

Click for larger version. You know about the Red Bull Flugtag, right? Chances are you've probably seen a commercial for it on TV, watching as hapless inventors and goofballs try to make their man-made craft soar through the air.Well, you Halo fans will have a reason to watch if the voting goes your way. One special craft vying for the wild card spot at the Nashville Flugtag is the Halo 2 GhostBike. Get over there and vote for it, and watch that baby take some sweet jumps. Plasma cannons appear to be optional, let's hope he removed 'em for flight. They even have a pretty addictive little Flash game on their website where you can try your hand at flying.[Via Xbox 360 Fanboy, and thanks Michael]

  • Buy Tony Hawk's board-burdened GH guitar, help starving musicians

Here's a charity item we guarantee no one has ever auctioned off before: a Guitar Hero controller bonded to a skateboard fragment -- with Tony Hawk's siggy, no less. Bidding starts at $100 and proceeds go to the MusiCares organization, which catches panhandling musicians in a delicate safety net and provides them with "critical assistance" (read: not a record deal). Some 29 other celeb- and rocker-decorated GH controllers are also up on eBay to support the cause. For anyone hoping for more than just a geeky display piece, please note the fine print: "Owing to customization, the controller is offered solely as an art object and is not guaranteed to have retained any functionality; buyers who choose to connect the controller to a console do so at their own risk." Mountain Dew and Red Bull just isn't enough for today's serious gamers. Now they need specially marketed energy supplements to keep them in the fragging zone. Enter Uncommon Loot and Headshot; the candy bar specifically created for gamers. With 100 mg of Guarana, Headshot could pack a serious punch considering that your average bottle of Bawls has approximately 80mg of everyone's favorite nervous system stimulant. Uncommon Loot will be releasing the product to gaming centers first and will eventually make it available on their website. We'll be sure to bring word of Headshot again after the first professional gamer is kicked out of competition for crushing and snorting his candy bar.[via Engadget]
