It seems as if this week is a good one to get stuff on the cheap or even for free. First, Marvel announced a promo yesterday which gave access to its Unlimited comics service for 99 cents, and now EA has quietly revealed that it's giving away copies of The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. You'll need to have Origin, EA's software distribution platform, installed on your machine to take advantage of this deal, but it's as easy as entering a code for old and new users alike. Just don't expect EA to keep supporting the classic game after you install it, since the publisher brought closure to that a few days ago. The Windows download on Origin will be available until July 31st at 1:00AM ET, which means there's plenty of time to let it all sink in and cancel whatever you had planned for the weekend.

If there's one thing we don't like about The Sims 2: Castaway, it's the game's lack of modern convenience. Yes, we get that they're castaways, but we can't tell you how many times we've become frustrated with our little Sim, only to take our aggression out by trapping them in a structure lacking doors and having them keep using the toaster oven until a fire broke out. Hey, don't look at us like we're monsters?Anywho, check out these new screens with us and be sure to take part in our random, yet completely appropriate, screaming of "Wiiiiiiilson!"

We all know that Nintendo banked with Nintendogs. Though this idea had already been toyed around with by Ubisoft and their games Petz, (which later lead to Catz and Dogz for the GameBoy Advance) you would be surprised at how many folks didn't get wind of virtual pets until Nintendogs. Seeing the success of the game, other franchises want a piece of the big fat pie. Enter The Sims 2 Pets. Granted Sims fans were introduced to the idea of pets in the original Sims 2 and The Sims Unleashed so it is quite possible to point the finger at Nintendo for stealing taking the idea further. Interested? Check out a few screenshots and a trailer to get a glimpse of what it's all about. Personally, I don't see why you just wouldn't get a real life pet to love, feed and play with but maybe that's just me.
