The Australian ratings board has posted a classification for some kind of new version of Virtua Tennis 4, called "Virtua Tennis 4 World Tour Edition." This one differs from the original in that it's got an M rating and warnings for severe, graphic violence. No, we're totally kidding. It's rated G ... for graphic violence. Kidding again. It's "General." Our best guess for the identity of this "World Tour Edition" is that it's the Vita release of Virtua Tennis 4. The PSP Virtua Tennis game bore the "World Tour" appellation as well. It certainly makes sense for a game you can take with you.

  • Zumba Fitness manages chart-topping hat trick in UK

Zumba Fitness has maintained the top spot on the UK charts for three straight weeks, with Chart-Track prognosticating the title has "a good chance of holding on for a few more weeks yet." The workout dance game has reached the top spot in the UK a total of six times and -- here's the mind blowing part -- last week beat the sales of the games in spots two through five combined, despite Zumba experiencing a 5 percent drop in sales. We know this time is "quiet" in terms of sales, but this is just getting seriously awkward. With the completion of Wimbledon 2011, two tennis titles racketed up some sales. Virtua Tennis 4 stormed the court, moving up 15 spots into the fifth seat, while Top Spin 4 jumped two spots into eigth. Last week's debut titles to crack the top 40 were Capcom's Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D and THQ's UFC Personal Trainer, at spots 21 and 22, respectively. Check out the UK's top ten games after the break.

Sega's sent out a new Virtua Tennis 4 trailer, giving us a sample of the game's Kinect functionality. Sure, it doesn't have the same "moves" seen in other tennis game promo spots, but what it lacks in scantily-clad tennis stars, it makes up for with ... uh, wide-eyed youths and an English announcer?

Sega is planning two demos for its upcoming Virtua Tennis 4. As Sega's Mie Kumagai notes on PlayStation Blog Europe, both demos will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3. The first demo will be released on April 13 in Europe -- April 19 in the US, Sega tells Joystiq -- and will show off the game's new World Tour mode. The newly revised globetrotting mode uses a board game layout, which you can glimpse in a trailer after the break. The demo will allow players to try out a small portion of the mode's first season. Another demo is also planned for later this year. The second demo will include PlayStation Move support and will also let players test out the game's 3D functionality.

This summer, Sega will bring Virtua Tennis 4 to the PC, giving sun-fearing gamers a chance to partake in their favorite sport, safe from the dangers of UV rays and, uh, bees? Yeah, let's go with bees. They sting you! The plan is to launch across digital distribution and retail, in both Europe and North America, although the boxed retail version will only be available in Europe. Apart from supporting the Xbox 360 controller, the PC version should be identical to its console counterparts, Sega says. %Gallery-114770%

  • Virtua Tennis 4 coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii this spring

Sega has lobbed out its official announcement for Virtua Tennis 4. Previously announced only at a Sony conference, the new Sega note reveals that the tennis sequel is bouncing to Xbox 360 and Wii as well, all due in spring 2011. All three versions will include motion-control capabilities -- the PS3 version's Move compatibility was known (and motion controls for the Wii are obvious, though they will be "MotionPlus" controls), but this will be the first true tennis "sim" to make use of Kinect, since March's Top Spin 4 will not be Kinect compatible. In addition to those new waving-at-the-game options, Virtua Tennis 4 also brings a new "World Tour" mode that builds a unique career path based on your decisions on the court. Spoiler alert: Deciding to win more will result in a better career. "Match momentum" is also new, adding an on-screen gauge that builds your player's "confidence" as it fills. The new online mode provides tournaments and matchmaking services for "the most engaging online experience for tennis gamers ever." Combined with the motion controls, that's going to result in a lot of really awkward-sounding, breathless voice chat.%Gallery-114770%

You won't have to wait until SOCOM 4 to see PlayStation Move owners duke it out with standard DualShock players. During Sony's Gamescom press conference, Zipper showed off an enhanced version of MAG that adds support for Sony's motion controller. Hopefully, someone will coordinate a 64v64 battle of the controllers to see exactly which control scheme reigns supreme once this update goes live. In addition to MAG, another surprise announcement during the conference was Virtua Tennis 4. Sega's tennis franchise will be back next year to explore the sorely underrepresented motion-controlled tennis genre. The game will also support 3D.%Gallery-99650%
