The You Don't Know Jack Classic Pack is now available on Steam. The $20 bundle offers players the original games in the series stretching back to 1995's Vol. 1 XL. Each of the nine trivia games are available individually for $2.99 save for Vol. 6, which costs $1.99. The Classic Pack is a $5.92 discount on the combined price of the games. Developer Jackbox Games, formerly Jellyvision Games, has since developed You Don't Know Jack for a number of platforms. The developer updated the Facebook and mobile versions of the latest entry in the trivia series to unlock free and unlimited daily access for all users, and the $2.99 "Royale" upgrade offers in-game bonuses and strips away ads from the game.

  • You Don't Know Jack coming to iOS and Android in the 'very near future'

You Don't Know Jack will land on iOS in the "very near future," Jellyvision announced on their Facebook page. The announcement was coupled with the appropriately demeaning video seen above.Jellyvision began testing the Android version of the game recently, so no solid release date was announced for it. Not that "the very near future" was helpful for iPhone and iPad users looking to get their trivia on. The mobile versions of You Don't Know Jack were first announced in April 2011.

Stop whatever you're doing right now and go download You Don't Know Jack for iPhone or iPad, or in the free lite version if you want. I don't know of any game that, throughout the years that it's been available on various platforms, is more consistently enjoyable by anyone, from the most hardcore of gamers to non-techie trivia buffs. You Don't Know Jack is one of the most solid gaming experiences around, and the brand new iOS version doesn't skimp at all. It's got hilarious iOS-specific audio (Host Cookie jokes early on that he's "glad to be hosting an app that's not a ripoff of Scrabble") and questions, all of the old mini-games (like Dis or Dat and the Jack Attack), and it even has the backstage talk and fake commercials that the main console versions have. Great game -- I can't recommend this one more. OK, if I'm going to nitpick, I'll say that the graphics are just slightly pixelated on the SD version. And even the iPad version is one-player only -- the game recommends if you want to play with more people, you should buy one of the other versions. But there is Game Center integration, and with 20 full episodes available in the app (and even more promised to be coming soon), this is a terrific experience that won't disappoint anyone with a taste for trivia and/or a sense of humor. Great game, and well worth the US$2.99 on the iPhone or $4.99 on the iPad.

Many of you probably do not, in fact, know Jack. Though the "irreverent quiz show party game" was once overwhelming in presence, You Don't Know Jack has been the recipient of precisely one retail release (2003's YDKJ: The Lost Gold) in the past 11 years. Now, the cult classic has finally made its debut on modern consoles, and though it may have learned a few new tricks along the way, it's the sadistic, hilarious comeback fans have been waiting for. %Gallery-114620%

  • You Don't Know Jack is coming back

A little part of gaming history died when the final You Don't Know Jack episode went live on Jellyvision's website. Fortunately, if you thought that was the end of the long run for the classic quiz games, then you don't ... well, you know. As originally heard on the Giant Bomb podcast and later confirmed on the official site, Jellyvision is partnering up to THQ to bring the series back yet again. More details are expected later this year, so we don't know just yet if this is a new game or simply a new way to play the old ones (a release on XBLA or PSN would be nice). Show host Cookie says on the Bombcast intro that he's been working on a game for three months already, so a new title isn't out of the question. Either way, we can't wait to get Jack back. Life just hasn't been the same without a good Jack Attack every once in a while -- remember the clue!

Sacre bleu! Something odd seems to have happened to our favorite sardonic online flash quiz for its March 31 edition (embedded above). Questions like "Repeat after me!" and a comparison between lines from Great Expectations and Jackass 2: The Movie seem completely out of pace with the game's usual punishing difficulty. Don't even get us started on the "repeat after me" Jack Attack, which could probably be completed by a mentally handicapped surrender monkeys (cheese-eating or non).We can only hope this is a one-time glitch, and not a trend that will last past through the beginning of the fourth month of the year ...

If in-game statistics are to be believed, most of you don't know jack about the new, online version of You Don't Know Jack. Something is seriously wrong with the state of gaming when even the most-played editions of the funniest, cleverest, and overall best trivia quiz ever created can't even top 100,000 plays after over a year on the interwebs (despite being absolutely free to play!). The show even has an RSS feed to remind you of the daily updates, for goodness sakes. What's are you waiting for, people? Halo 3 will still be there in five minutes. Broaden your gaming horizons!Luckily, someone at Yahoo! recognized the genius of Jack more than all of you, because Fortune Small Business is reporting that the company has signed on to distribute the game on its popular casual games network. No details on exactly how the alliance will work, but hopefully some of the site's 17 million monthly users will be able to stray away from hits like Dress Shop Hop and Sally's Salon for some delightfully raunchy trivia fun. Hmmm ... then again, maybe Yahoo!'s audience isn't the best fit for this kind of content. Note to Microsoft: we would not be adverse to the idea of an Xbox Live Version of this game. Nope, not adverse at all ...

  • NPD survey says gamers unaware of their console's capabilities

To most Joystiq readers, Blu-ray is synonymous with the PlayStation 3. According to a recent survey from the NPD Group (via ars technica), however, that connection isn't as widely known. In fact, the results show that just 40% of those who owned a PS3 knew it had a Blu-ray drive. Really?Even more bizarre, the report states that just 50% of the gamers surveyed knew the PS3 had high definition graphics. That's, of course, a relative victory over Xbox 360, whose high definition prowess was only known by 30% of the survey takers. The survey was reportedly a culmination of 6,260 responses from console owners aged six to 44. Who are these people, though? We're still confused by the PS3 / Blu-ray (dis)connection, given that the Blu-ray logo is placed prominently on the front of the box, in every commercial and advertisement, on the console itself. How did those other 60% miss that? Curious about Nintendo's ability to inform the public, we conducted our survey today. It turns out only 35% of the Joystiq staff (and 70% of the NWF staff) knew the Wii had motion controls.[Via PS3 Fanboy]

  • Did you know?: You Don't Know Jack is back

Since the 2004 release of the relatively small You Don't Know Jack 6: The Lost Gold, our favorite fast-paced, irreverent, slightly-adult PC quiz show series has unfortunately lay dormant. No more! This month saw the premiere of YouDontKnowJack.com, and the Daily DisOrDat -- a two-minute, Flash-based matching quiz updated every weekday with You Don't Know Jack's trademark voice acting and comic pacing.Being online means the questions can be a little more topical than the dated references in the classic disc games. Today's quiz is about Donald Rumsfeld, for instance, and gamers might find this quiz oddly familiar. What's more, the setups are genuinely funny, and there are quite a few laugh-out-loud moments to be found in the archives. We're not one to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, but we can't help but imagine the possibilities for online versions of other Jack favorites like Gibberish Questions or even the Jack Attack. And would some multiplayer modes have killed them? I mean Jack ain't jack without a friend. We'd even be willing to pay or look at ads or something if it comes to that. Just, please, give us more Jack![Via Game|Life]
