The PlayStation.Blog has been kind enough to make a walkthrough video of Sony's brand new adhocParty service for PSP/PS3. With this program, games that don't have Infrastructure multiplayer modes on PSP can be played online through the PlayStation Network. Essentially, the PS3 uses some evil voodoo magic to trick the PSP into thinking it's playing Ad-Hoc with others. The program is available for free on the PlayStation Store right now. To see the video, click past the break.

The PSP has a ton of terrific multiplayer games. However, many use local multiplayer, commonly referred to as Ad-Hoc. Games like Monster Hunter are ideal for online play, but don't natively feature internet support. However, in Japan, there's an easy workaround: Ad-Hoc Party, a downloadable app that allows PSP owners with PS3 systems to simulate Ad-Hoc connections through the PlayStation Network. Suddenly, players can go head-to-head in Dissidia, even if they're not in the same room.We quizzed SCEA if Ad-Hoc Party was going to come to America a few months ago, and they told us it was something they were looking into. Siliconera has discovered a new trademark that suggests SCEA may be localizing the connectivity feature. This is good news -- especially because Valkyria Chronicles 2 will support Ad-Hoc multiplayer.

As Swine Flu has the world on edge, London is preparing for its own epidemic: Monster Hunter Fever. Apparently, the contagious disease, which originated in Japan, is hitting the British Isles -- specifically in London. Symptoms of the disease include insomnia due to lack of ad hoc play, sore thumbs and an insatiable love for talking cats. If you know anyone who is suffering from these symptoms, kindly bring them to the Monster Hunter Gathering Hall in London between July 1st and September 1st for treatment. Those who come will undergo special therapy, whereby they'll interact with others suffering from the same condition, allowing physicians to better understand their disease and discover a cure. Doors swing open from 10am to 8pm all week (except for Thursdays: 10am to 10pm). Admission is only open to those who suffer from Monster Hunter Fever, which means you should have a PSP and a copy of the game on you when you arrive at the hall. Participating patients will also receive a free, complementary injection of soda. So don't forget to ask!
