Street Fighter 5 trailer teases Charlie's return, Capcom Cup 2015 pool mounds to $500,000
You might recognize pieces of the above Street Fighter 5 trailer from earlier this week, but unless you were watching the Capcom Cup last night, you haven't seen the teased return of Charlie that starts around the 1:20 mark. Charlie threw his first punch in Street Fighter Alpha and shares military pal Guile's affection for hurling Sonic Booms (and rocking ridiculous hair styles). As reported by Shoryuken, Capcom Cup contestants received more good news beyond Street Fighter 5's roster addition – through a partnership with Sony, the Capcom Pro Tour and Capcom Cup will return next year with a prize pool worth $500,000. Sounds like a pretty great excuse to us to keep practicing combos. If you're looking for more than just a trailer of Street Fighter 5, last night's stage demo bouts between Ryu and Chun-Li show a few uninterrupted rounds of the wall-breaking PS4 and PC exclusive fighter, as well as the debut of Chun-Li's line of noodle bowl headwear. Mysterious "Project Charlie" shows up in AT&T's system
Three SKUs for products called Charlie 1, Charlie 2, and Charlie 3 are now listed in AT&T's inventory system, all the with a helpful description of "Project Charlie." Unfortunately, PhoneArena's tipster has no idea what they might be, and neither do we. Our guess? 3G-enabled MacBook Airs personally saved from destruction by Charlie Rose.
DS Daily: Dream fighter
Let's face it: there aren't many decent fighters for the DS. Japan received the superb Jump Superstars, featuring an insanely large cast of everyone's favorite anime characters, but was not seen fit for localization. While DS Fanboy is all about hopes and dreams, we're also about violence; with that in mind, what fictional characters would you like to see slug it out? We eliminate standard Nintendo characters; we already have Smash Bros. for those rivalries. We're talking real pirate vs. ninja stuff here. Suggestions among our staff have included Captain Nemo from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea against Nemo from Finding Nemo, and the singer of Bananaphone against Charlie the Unicorn.
You saw Lost right? (spoilers)
Did you catch the images in the "monster" as it faced down Eko? I don't have any screen grabs but Kevin might later, the'yre talking about it over on TV Squad also. Thanks to the high definition DVR I was able to make out the images as they flashed by, this wasn't so much of an HDTV easter egg as a Tivo-egg, because there's no way you would be able to see all the images without frame-by-frame. Church Eko as a child a woman the man he shot his brother and the gun an upside down picture of Eko coming out of the water after the plane crash the man who pushed him off of the missionary plane the woman who sold the figurines two flashes of Eko holding his dying brother Jesus on the cross All they need is a subplot about how Eko used to be in a wheelchair and he and Locke will officially be the exact same person. One of the best shows in HD is back and it should be an interesting rest of the season.
