Markus "Notch" Persson is mainly known as the man behind Minecraft, but he's quickly developing a reputation for eccentric games that cover everything from speed typing to existential drama. If there's any doubt, you just have to look at his latest title, Cliffhorse. Yes, it's as absurd as the title suggests -- you play a horse pushing a giant ball around cliffs, and there isn't more to it than that. However, that barely-there design (which took all of two hours to build) is really the point. Persson describes the Windows-only game as a jab at developers who abuse early access programs by charging money for "minimum effort" releases, where most of the content theoretically comes later. And yes, he's aware of the irony given that he charged for Minecraft well before it was finished.

With the recent graphics upgrades and the work going into the game by Craig Morrison and his team at Funcom - including that pretty tasty level 50 patch coming up - players are turning again to check out Age of Conan. We know from just what we here at Massively experienced, the game is certainly doing far better than it fared at launch. But to get back to the point of this column, today we're bringing you a lovely cliff-side image from Age of Conan sent in to us by Brenden M. He didn't send in anything aside from this great image, so we'll have to rely on our imaginations to figure out what this spot is for. Hyborian hangliding? Cliff diving? Maybe this is where they play their favorite impromptu game "Bounce the Pict" - drop your Pictish enemies off the cliff and see how far they bounce when they hit bottom. Furthest bounce wins!If you're back in Hyboria - or any land we haven't seen recently - why not send in your screenshots! We'd love to see more of strange and wonderful foreign lands. Just email them to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the game it's from, and a quick description. We'll post them here and give you the credit!%Gallery-9798%

  • WoW Moviewatch: I Gave You

One of the things I think is most awesome about Northrend is the fact that it adds a whole continent of "real-world" scenes to the game. Outland was so out there that it was hard to use any of the in-game terrain for any stories other than those that took place on another planet, but Northrend is a very grounded place -- while zones like Zul'Drak and Crystalsong Forest can seem very otherworldly, there are zones like Howling Fjord and Grizzly Hills that seem much more normal, if no less beautiful.Today's Moviewatch definitely isn't a crafted masterpiece -- even the creator says it only took him about two hours to make, but it does show how haunting some of this Northrend landscape is. Just the cliffs of the Howling Fjord are enough to complement this stark little song and give it an extra dimension. I can't wait to see some more of the machinima that comes out of the new Northrend locations. If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ..

Today's One Shots is the final of three gorgeous panoramic screenshots that were compiled and sent in to us by Adrian (Asarja) from Romania. This image is also from Guild Wars: Nightfall, and as before we know very little other than that. If you check out the full-size screenshot, you'll see lots of little scaffolds near what appears to be a cliff, ruined ships, a dockyard, and a bridge in the background. It is a really lovely area.Do you have any panoramas you've created in your favorite game? Perhaps you just know a lovely spot to hang out in? Whatever the case, we'd love to see your screenshots! Mail them, along with a short description of the image, to us here at oneshots AT massively.com and relax. We'll do the rest.%Gallery-9798%
