Epic by Cryssy was created without the use of autotune. While I've never been bothered by the use of autotune in machinima, it's interesting to point out. The video itself declares that fact within the first few seconds, so I'm guessing it must be noteworthy. I continue to enjoy Cryssy and I'm fairly impressed by her ongoing work. The video's composition is especially interesting. You should note the appearance of a goblin character. I'm pretty sure we're going to see a lot more of those in music videos going forward. I don't know what it is about goblins, but they just feel right in music videos. Cataclysm is going to be a good time for machinima. Interested in the wide world of machinima? With the release of patch 4.0.1, Operation Gnomeregan is no longer with us. But you can remember the event forever with Operation Gnomeregan by Cryssy and featuring Wick. The graphics in this video were pretty impressive to me. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but they flowed much more smoothly than I had anticipated. The lens flare seemed a little strong to me in places, but the effect definitely conveyed a sense of technology and struggle. The vocals were also strong and showcased some nice expansion in Cryssy's skills. I look forward to seeing what comes next. Interested in the wide world of machinima? I first featured this song a few months ago. WarLock is a collaboration piece by Cryssy, Sharm and Quixotica. It celebrates that most DoT-oriented class. At the time, there was a lot of hubbub about my use of "iconic" to describe Kesha. To be fair, I never said anything about whether I find that style of performance good or not; I only really said that if a person hears it, that person tends to think of Kesha. But I'm especially glad for WarLock because whenever I hear the music from Tik-Tok, it's WarLock's lyrics that spring to mind. WarLock has completely eclipsed the original in my subconscious, so I get to have that little party dance with myself. It's the little victories that make life worth living. Now is good timing to bring WarLock back up, because I hear Cryssy is working on a new project, so I hope to see that come to fruition soon. In the meantime, I'm just glad to have a few of Keisha's lyrics gone from my brain. Edit: Fixed the spelling of Keisha. When spellcheck goes wild, right? Interested in the wide world of machinima? For the Horde: The Final Journey is a sort of tribute movie about RomireVid's efforts to reach level 80 on his hunter. You can think of it as a kind of send-off, a trailer and a memorial all at the same time. RavenSylphe was clearly a collaborator in the movie, but Romire also thanks Cryssy, Wakagana and Sporcy. The foundation of For the Horde is all right, but there are a few places where this style could use some polish. The voice acting didn't click for me, but that kind of thing is personal preference. However, I think using a consistent font for the movie subtitles would have helped it immensely. It's a bit distracting for each language flash to be in a different font style. I like seeing how Romire is growing his videos, and it'll definitely be interesting to see where he goes next. Interested in the wide world of machinima? This movie was created by RavenSylphG, who you might recall was the machinima creator of the incredibly popular Ninja Raiders. Raven has put together a new video for the song On the Horde. It's pretty nice to be able to feature more of her work, since I'm really finding myself enamored of her graphic style. On the Horde is performed by Kirstieanne, Cryssy, and Sharm. (You're probably pretty familiar with Sharm from videos like I Kissed An Orc). This is the first time I've been exposed to Kirstieanne and Cryssy. I liked both of their performances, and think they did a good job singing with Sharm. I will admit that On the Horde didn't hit me as the best song ever, but I still respect the amount of work and effort that must have gone into creating it. Ultimately, I'm really excited about seeing all four of these folks break out more music and videos into the WoW culture. I think theyr'e doing great things, and I'm eager to see what comes next.
