The first ever black hole image lands scientists $3 million prize
The scientists that captured the first image of a black hole are being rewarded with a $3 million prize. The Breakthrough prize, known as the "Oscars of Science," is sponsored by Silicon Valley execs such as Mark Zuckerberg and Sergey Brin, and recognizes top scientists in fields including life sciences, physics and math.
An 'Event Horizon' series is in the works at Amazon
The classic sci-fi horror movie Event Horizon is about to get a new lease on life in the streaming era. Variety has learned that Amazon and Paramount are creating an Event Horizon series for Prime Video. Details of the plot are scarce, although the 1997 flick revolved around a ship whose trip to an alternate dimension unleashed terrors on the crew sent to rescue the vessel. There will, however, be a connection to the creative team from the movie.

Fan Faire 2010: DCUO panel video offers more superpowered info
With an exciting backstory trailer having recently been released at San Diego Comic-Con, many have been anxiously scanning for any new scrap of information about DC Universe Online -- especially with release coming soon! Thankfully, for those who were unable to attend this year's Fan Faire, the team members at Sony Online Entertainment have posted video from the panel to their Facebook page. These three videos offer a great overview of the game for everyone from relative newcomer to DC devoted, as well as explaining things in a bit more detail than we'd previously heard. There's also a brief Q&A with the audience afterward that may or may not answer some of your own questions.
