All we know right now is that you'll find more information on how to get your hands on one of these hyper-detailed, 17-inch beauties -- depicting protagonist Eddie Riggs in mid-dismemberment -- on the official Brütal Legend website and Twitter feed. With 1,000 available, we have a suspicion some may eventually be available to buy, rather than win, but if that happens don't expect them to be cheap. Reader Asphydel's characters hail from Pinky Street – literally. Pinky Street is a line of four-inch anime figurines that come with interchangeable parts, allowing you to create trendy, custom figures with your own look. The line encourages customizations, from swapping out parts and accessories to adding entirely new paint jobs. Asphydel of Ghostlands-US took the look a step farther, bringing her figurine into the World of Warcraft with Pinkycized versions of her Priest and her boyfriend's Mage. "I actually have a background in art and had taken a class in 3D," she explains. "We had a small section on making molds, so it was pretty darn easy for me to follow various suggestions and ideas I had found online. I can imagine that it can be a little overwhelming for anyone who has never looking into it ... O_o I knew it was for me in my first classes."

Best Buy to sell exclusive Joker mask figurine with The Dark Knight
Just when you had your buying plans for December 9th all sealed up, in flies this to totally shake 'em up. As if there won't be enough options out there for snapping up The Dark Knight early next month, Best Buy has announced that it will sell an exclusive Collector's Edition DVD and Blu-ray packaged with a Joker mask figurine. From what we can tell, everything else (movie wise, anyway) will be the same, but an expected price premium has yet to be disclosed. Aw, did we just cause you to cancel an existing pre-order? Capcom shows off Bionic Commando prototype figurine
Today, the Capcom Blog decided to reveal the box art and a prototype figurine for Bionic Commando. The thing about the figurine, though, is that the company has no idea when, where, how or if the general consumer will be able to get one.OK, we have no idea what the point of showing off the six-inch tall prototype is other than to gauge consumer interest. So, fine, we'll bite. It's kinda sexy. What say y'all? Would you pay $20 more if it came in one of those "limited edition" packages these companies are so fond of?
Simon Belmont's shorts immortalized in new figurine
The little shorts. The multi-buckled, open vest that looks kind of like an empty life preserver. The Gene Simmons boots. After all the cool Castlevania characters, dressed in various finery, it is Simon Belmont (or "Belmondo" as he's known in Japan), dressed in Takeshi Obata's newly-designed Castlevania: Judgment style that Konami has decided to make into a figure. Although, of course, the other most recent Simon look wouldn't have been much better of a choice. And it's not Dracula in his dress.We must admit that the sculptors have made Simon look damn cool, even if he is dressed like a Tetsuya Nomura Final Fantasy hero. Phazon Suit Samus statue is ridiculously nice
First 4 Figures has come back around full circle, after completing Sheik and Sonic and his pals, now they've got yet another Samus statue. This one, in our opinion, totally trumps all of their past efforts. Just look at the thing.Of course, the catch is that this costs a bunch of money. $224.99 in money, to be exact. For those of you with a winning lottery ticket, this goes on sale Q1 of next year.
Three things to get you excited about Shiren 3
First reason to be hyped about Shiren the Wanderer: The Sleeping Princess in the Clockwork Palace's release, even though no one has announced a U.S. localization yet -- Famitsu's review score: 35/40 (9 / 9 / 8 / 9). Though many consider Famitsu to be too forgiving with its reviews for highly advertised, big-budget games, the Shiren series doesn't seem to fit that description. For such a niche game to receive a high score like this, Chunsoft must have done something right!Second reason -- See Asuka model pictured above (and past the break). We're not the type to leave figures of female anime characters posed around our rooms, giving women even more reason to run away from the mess we've made of our lives, but as we demonstrated with the Koppa remote stand preorder bonus, we have a weakness to Shiren merchandise. As for our third reason, swing your sword to check for traps, and step past the break for a new Shiren 3 commercial. It features a collection of player deaths set to Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 -- what's not to like?

Phantom Hourglass gashapon does not help our financial situation
You'll have to forgive us me for making two Phantom Hourglass-related posts in the same day (it's like Zelda week all over again), but these capsule toys are irresistibly cute -- yes, possibly even cuter than this. Unfortunately, at just $3 a piece from Play-Asia, they also happen to be irresistibly cheap, a combination that does not mix well when you're a financially impoverished blogger, already reduced to a scurvy-inducing diet of noodles and water for the rest of December.Which gashapon you receive is entirely random, though as they're all pretty fantastic (and did we mention cheap?), we can't see a lot of people complaining. Not when we'll happily take any like-for-likes you receive off your hands. We're kind like that, you see.[Via BGB]
Bring your character home with FigurePrints
Sure, there are already licensed World of Warcraft figurines by way of DC. But those are just so generic, you know? Now, what if I told you you could get a figure that looks exactly like your in-game character, outfitted in any gear you own? That's exactly what FigurePrints, a new venture that is set to go live on December 11th, promises to do for you. They are apparently official -- check out the "Licensed Blizzard Product" badge in the bottom-right -- and I find the idea quite intriguing. From one perspective it's the next logical step in merchandising, but really, look at the future we're living in: create a character in an online fantasy game, and have a third party step in, take a model of the character, make a custom 3D print of it, and mail it to your doorstep. This type of stuff has been done before, yes, but the quality on the sample FigurePrints is quite impressive.Here's some information from the site's FAQ: The data is pulled from the Armory, which makes me wonder: how do they get your appearance right? The Armory, unless I'm mistaken, doesn't include things like hairstyle and the other various customization options. The actual statuettes are built using rapid prototyping (AKA 3D printing) using vertically-stacked slices of "plaster-like powder" and then hand-finished. The scale is 1:18, which means a male human comes out about 4 inches tall, not counting the base. And the price? $99.95, plus $14.95 shipping and handling. They warn that availability is limited, and that the best way to guarantee you get one is to make an account at their site, although I wasn't able to get past the "Open December 11th" banner to actually click on anything. So how about it? Will you be lining up to pay $100 plus shipping to bring your toon out of Azeroth?
2K gives us a BioShock figurine replacement update
If you signed up for 2K Games' Big Daddy figurine replacement program, then listen up, because (unlike our mini-update) we have super concrete details straight from 2K regarding your replacement figure.In an email sent out to those who registered to get their broken Big Daddy fixed, 2K says that production of the figures took longer than expected and was the cause of the months and months of delays in the replacement program. But, good news is that "in order to speed things up, 2K Games is eliminating the step in which you are required to return the broken figurine". You read correctly, you'll be able to keep your already broken figurine AND get another not-so-broken one shipped to you. Nice move 2K, nice move. The email also confirms that, in the next two weeks, they'll be shipping out the replacement figurines and promised art book to those who signed up for the program before November 12th. 2K's update email can be read in its entirety after the break.[Thanks, dubbalubagis]
Nintendo signs international merch deal
You know, for all of us who live outside the confines of Japan, real Nintendo merchandise is pretty scarce (or a horrible knock-off). All kinds of figurines, posters and the like are readily available in just about any shop in the country (we didn't check on the validity of such a claim, but leave us with our delusions). For us in the U.S. and other regions, we must either pay the hefty price of importing or live a bland, boring existence where we can only play Nintendo games and not live them in every aspect of our life. Oh, what a cruel world!That is no more, though, as we're happy to announce Nintendo has teamed up with Corgi International Limited to provide us with a "multi-category range of products" until 2010. The goodies we will be able to purchase are extended to "Action Figures, Playset Environments, FX Electronic Products, Iconic Game Replicas, Multi Sized Plush, and Vinyl Figures." Personally, we can't wait until they make a life-sized Link pillow that we can hold tight while we sleep.What? Don't act like you wouldn't!
Big Daddy's final look for BioShock limited edition
As we prepare to enter BioShock's city of Rapture on Aug. 21, we now get to view the final version of the Big Daddy figurine which will be bundled with the limited edition version of the game. The figurine looks pretty cool and the limited edition is only $10 more ($69.99) than the normal game -- seems totally worth it for the six-inch hand-painted resin statue.It's neat to see the evolution of the figurine. Todd McFarlane designs wireless Halo 3 controllers
Microsoft's Xbox 360 controller is no stranger to hacks 'n mods, but unless your drawing skills are on par with Mr. Todd McFarlane, you won't soon be duplicating these on your own. Both the Spartan and Covenant wireless controllers are splashed in artwork by none other than the Spawn man himself on "high-quality, scratch and wear resistant plastic," and include a limited edition Halo 3 figurine to boot. Moreover, those who aren't down with wrapping their palms around a third-party controller shouldn't fret, as these special devices are first-party through and through. Lastly, an equally rare headset looks to also be available, but it skips the McFarlane makeover in favor of a simple Halo 3 logo. All three units are tentatively set to ship the first week in September for a stiff $59.99 apiece, but after waiting this long to finally have Halo 3 spinnin' in your console, you might as well complete the experience.[Via Joystiq, thanks Mark]
New from First 4 Figures: Sheik!
First 4 Figures have released another well-sculpted, detailed figurine of a Nintendo character. The new figure is the fourth entry in their series of N64-era Zelda characters, focusing on the mysterious, much-cooler-than-Link Sheik.Sheik stands about 9" tall and is in scale with the other figurines in the series. It will cost $109.99 and can be reserved now for shipping in the fall.Ocarina of Time is great, but we really want to get these figures to set up our own trophy table like the one in Super Smash Brothers Melee. But for $100+ each, we aren't sure if we could bring ourselves to make them fight.
BC figurines coming in fall
ToyFare reports that DC Direct is producing some lovely Burning Crusade figurines, schedule to debut this fall. All we have so far are pictures of unpainted prototypes (like "you are not prepared" Illidan, pictured at right). They look pretty nifty to me, although I know very little about figurines.Two things about this story strike me as odd. As they point out over at ToyFare, DC Direct usually makes stuff based on DC comics for the direct market, as you might expect. These are of course not based on DC work, and furthermore seem to be headed for the mass market. Second, "release date: fall?" That's over six months from now; it seems like they would have done better to get them out a bit sooner. But maybe the manufacturing process doesn't allow for that or something.Anyway, click on over to ToyFare to see the prototypes for a Draenei Paladin, an Orc Shaman, a Dwarf Warrior, and Illidan. (Is it just me, or is the paladin wielding a one-handed weapon with no shield nor offhand?)

First4Figures is back again, with another collectible statue based on the ever-so-popular Nintendo franchises of our youth. This time it's not the growth-hormone abusing Fierce Deity Link or the creepy Skull Kid, but the hunky all-AmericanHylian Ocarina of Time Link, adult version. Like the rest of F4F's offerings, this one doesn't come cheap. These aren't action figures you're going to be playing with, but collectible statues you're supposed to display. Think of it more like the collectible statues in Wind Waker, except you don't need to take pictures of people to get them ... and you don't have to find a sculptor's hidden underground lair.
