Two Bosses Enter ... but only One Boss Leaves, in WoW.com's series of fantasy death matches. This season's combatants come from the original five-man instances of Wrath of the Lich King. Returning underdog Loken showed why he was among the fighters readers voted back into the season, downing Gal'darah this week in the Two Bosses Thunderdome. Fifty-eight percent of the vote went to the Dark Titan from the Halls of Lightning. Gal'darah brought in some positive comments but ultimately lacked the votes to carry him through. Elovan: Gal'darah could easily shift to rhino form and simply Impale Loken anytime he tries to use his novas. That plus his insane whirlwind could take down Loken pretty easily imho catharsis80: Don't forget Enrage, enabling him to attack 125% faster than Loken does, and considering the article says they have "comparative overall damage output"... Yeah, I think the results are quite obvious, since Gal can interrupt and Loken can't. PLUS, Pulsing Shockwave will do practically nothing to Gal, since he'll be all over Loken like white on rice. Nolls74: This, plus Gal has his rhino buddies who will charge Loken and knock him around like a rag doll. All of you picking Loken have no sense of style and are only judging it based on "Loken sucks for players; he must be the ultimate boss."

Two Bosses Enter ... but only One Boss Leaves, in WoW.com's series of fantasy death matches. This season's combatants come from the original five-man instances of Wrath of the Lich King. This week's match in the Two Bosses Thunderdome makes the healer in me cringe: Gal'darah (Gundrak) versus Loken (Halls of Lightning). Gal'darah steps into the Thunderdome on the laurels of a solid 68.4 percent victory in his last battle against Moorabi. However fearsome his reputation, Loken creeps into the ring as an underdog, having lost his most recent battle against Anub'arak and subsequently re-earning a berth through the reader vote that brought back three vanquished combatants. This week's ground rules: Assume that the opponents share similar levels, health pools and comparative overall damage output. This deathmatch takes place in neutral territory, which shall in no way hinder either opponent from using his usual resources. Don't get caught up in gameplay mechanics and what actual players might do in each encounter. Don't neglect style, story and scale. Let the doors open, let the crowds take to their feet. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls ... Dyin' time's here.

Two Bosses Enter ... but only One Boss Leaves, in WoW.com's series of fantasy death matches. Welcome to Round Two of the five-man Wrath of the Lich King season. Grab a seat, and let's get ready to rumble! It was Troll versus Troll this week, as Gal'darah and Moorabi squared off in the Two Bosses Thunderdome. Gal'darah impaled an easy victory, sweeping to a win with 68 percent of the reader vote. (However, nearly 9 percent of voters didn't award victory to either combatant. We didn't find their rationale in the comments anywhere ... Who knows what they were thinking?)Kar On E: Welcome to the Pachyderm playoff, everyone! This match kind of reminds me of a trip I took to the zoo recently. I saw several elephants and a couple of rhinos. Although I think in RL that an elephant might be able to take on a rhino, I believe that the rhino takes it in this case. First of all, Moorabi won't be able to transform if he spends most of the fight impaled. Even if not impaled when he tries to transform, there's still the small matter of charging ghost rhinos (which would be a great band name). Finally, even if the elephant transformation happens, that doesn't mean that Gal can't impale him ... it just means that he might not be able to juggle him in the air quite as easily. For my money, Gal'darah will prove to be the most powerful pachyderm in the place.

Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle. -- Firefly, "Our Mrs. Reynolds." Just as a recap, this is what we've covered so far in the OverAchiever: Glory of the Hero series: Part I: Ahn'kahet Part II: Azjol-Nerub and Culling of Stratholme Part III: Drak'Tharon Keep Having finished the first of the two "troll dungeons" in Wrath, let's head to the second: Gun'drak! Gun'drak is interesting in that it houses both the easiest heroic achievement and (arguably) the most annoying all at once, What the Eck? and Less-rabi respectivey. If you're planning on doing all of these achievements in one go (which may or may not be a good idea depending on group composition), I would recommend taking a group with a Bloodlust/Heroism (you may have seen me make mention of this point before) and several interrupts. A Shaman with Reverberation can be useful on Moorabi. You will also need an off-tank and off-healer for Share The Love. Snakes, Why'd It Have to Be Snakes? As a note, this achievement seems to be individually- rather than group-based; you can get it even if someone else gets wrapped. However, if you're interested in getting multiple people the achievement all at once, there are ways to ensure it doesn't happen at all.

Two Bosses Enter ... but only One Boss Leaves, in WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches. This season's bosses come from the five-man instances of Wrath of the Lich King. This season of Two Bosses Enter, One Boss Leaves rolls inexorably onward with an easy victory for Gal'darah, the High Prophet of Akali from Gundrak, over Halls of Stone Collosus Krystallus. Spectators tightened the focus on balancing mechanics vs. the spirit of the fight this time around, with Hoggersbud observing, "I think an assumption how close you are to Krystallus affecting the shatter damage would be silly reasoning, since as you say, he does do a knockback. If you're going to make it a proximity to Krystallus, make it increase the further away you are instead. At least that'd be something worthwhile. Otherwise you might as well just ignore the shatter effect. ... Just handwave that shatter is going to hurt Gal'darah for some reasonably acceptable amount, and work from there."Vote later today in the next matchup of this season's Two Bosses Enter ... One Boss Leaves.

Two Bosses Enter ... but only One Boss Leaves, in WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches. This season's duelists hail from the five-man instances of Wrath of the Lich King.Loosen up those fingers and get ready to post your theory on who will come out on top in this week's Two Bosses Enter matchup: Gal'darah of Gundrak versus Krystallus from Halls of Stone. It's Impale against Petrifying Grip and Shatter – who's doing what, while who's out of commission? As always, the basics: assume that the two bosses share similar levels, health pools and damage output, that any crowd control abilities they have affect one another, and that they are fighting on neutral territory. Because one of Krystallus' key abilities (Shatter) is designed for use against multiple opponents, we'll allow its effects against Gal'darah here. Other than that, we're out to debate the three S's: Style, Story and Scale. Don't get caught up in game mechanics and what players might do in each encounter. Consider the flavor each villainous gladiator brings to bear, then cast your vote for who you think would come out on top.
