This is a mindblowing tour of the The Fall of Gnomeregan, with a strong flair for storytelling, eye-popping graphics, and a smooth, riveting soundtrack. This is one of those rare, story-based machinimas we just don't see very often. I'll let Harmon Productions describe the work: This is a Machinima/Animated retelling of my first ever Machinima video "Plight of the Gnomes" with Gnomeregan and most WoW assets converted into Source Filmmaker and rendered there besides some spots composited in. A huge chunk of the work was getting Gnomeregan and other things into the engine and making it look as best as possible, and despite some weirdness here and there I think it's a success. If you take the time to watch this video, I think you'll agree with Harmon. It really is an amazing piece, and probably one of the best you'll see for a while. Harmon Productions has been around for a while; we featured its piece about the fall of Gnomeregan back in 2009 with Plight of the Gnomes. After a lot of hard work and effort to continue improving its skills. Harmon has now released Heavy in Your Arms. I found this video to be incredibly gorgeous and intriguing. The chosen music speaks to a soulful, rasping theme that complements the tight shots and haunting narrative. While I can see why this might not be everyone's cup of tea, I absolutely loved the final product. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! You're going to have a little variance in your opinion of this piece, dependent on whether you like or hate gnomes and whether you like old, scored story pieces without dialogue. Plight of the Gnomes by Harmon Productions is a retelling of one of the Alliance's oldest, tragic events (in World of Warcraft). Using music and images, Plight fills us in on not only the Great Betrayal, but the entire story about how the gnomes came to take up residence in Ironforge. This is a movie about the fall of Gnomeregan. The work was beautiful, in my opinion. The music definitely fit the piece perfectly, and the many portrait shots of key gnome personalities really helped get across the historical feel of Plight. I would have enjoyed letting the action move a little faster, but that's probably just me. I especially found the blood-spattered images of the trogg invaders to be powerful and moving. They were an effective tool for portraying the loss of the gnomish homeland. Click here to see it yourself!
