If you're looking for a VeryKool in your local Helio shop... well, we've got some really bad news, but we don't have the heart to break it to you at the moment. Instead, just know that you won't see these particular models -- the new i300 and i410 (pictured) -- in any US shops that we're aware of. Instead, distributor InfoSonics is looking to rock Central and South America with these bad boys, offering flip form factors, microSD slots, and music players. The i410 adds nifty features like a camera that turns into a webcam when you cable it up to your PC, and seeing how these are both 2G-only units, we bet you'll be able to find 'em for peanuts in the countries that are lucky enough to get stock. They're now shipping, so they should be showing up somewhere soon.

We've never really looked to Oregon Scientific for the innovation side of things, but the company has some at least semi-interesting releases for CES 2008. The InstaForecast i300 and i600 (pictured) display live weather forecasts from around the world, syncing with your computer to pull the data over the internet. The Professional Weather Center brings things a bit closer to home, with all the hardware to gather your own weather data in your backyard and display it on a screen indoors. Finally, the AnyWear 3D Pedometer does the whole step counting thing, but packs some timer and alarm functionality to beep along to your steps. No word on price for the i300, i600 or Pedometer, but the Pro Weather Center will run you $419 whenever it hits.

Not to suggest many among our readership have one of these suckers, but for the few (and proud) who do, rejoice. The g-Smart i300 is now slated to get an upgrade from Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC Phone Edition to Windows Mobile 6 Professional, though the translated press release doesn't seem to offer details on exactly how or when the upgrade will go down. Forgetting for a moment the sickly GPRS data speeds, the i300 offers up decent specs with a 520MHz PXA270 core, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, GPS, and a full 256MB of internal Flash with miniSD expansion. Look for the Windows Mobile 6-enabled version of the i300 to launch first in Taiwan with a follow-on launch in Turkey, of all places.[Via the::unwired]
