WoW Moviewatch: The Voice of Azeroth
There comes a time in every machinima-maker's life when they create a montage. Whether it's a video of their rogue kicking butts in the battleground or a spicy mixture of Azeroth landscapes, that montage serves as a milestone in your journey as a machinimator. The Voice of Azeroth is Nervous Orca's montage. It's decent, as far as these things go. And it has the most noble purpose of all: an anthem to rile you up for kicking Garrosh's butt. Using a song by 30 Seconds to Mars and lots of cut scenes, Nervous Orca delivers nearly 6 minutes of montage. Whether you like it will probably depend on your taste in montages, but I liked the general feel of the thing. Interested in the wide world of machinima? WoW Moviewatch: The History of WoW
I'm not sure I've ever encountered a comparison of The History of WoW to an on-stage production about cooking meatloaf. So, in terms of that, this video is a new one on me. As soon as you enter that kind of metaphor territory, though, you risk bordering on coming across as bitter and resentful. I think Nervous Orca mostly avoids that issue but I did wonder how long it'd be before the rage came blistering through. The video is full of decent jokes and good moments. But the jokes do drag on a tiny bit too long, especially with the relatively rough animation. Still, that constructive criticism shouldn't hold Orca back because this is a pretty good video.
