AI-powered app finds and locks away your racy photos

Hiding racy photos on your phone can be a tedious, manual affair. Depending on the app, you need to first select all the pics you want to move, move them and then delete them from your original cameral roll. That's not to mention making sure they didn't go to any automatic cloud backup locations like iCloud or Google Photos. A new app, Nude, aims to make the process a lot easier by scanning your photos for nudes, putting them in a private vault, deleting them from your camera roll and then erasing them from iCloud. All of this analysis is done on your iPhone, too, so no sensitive information hits the cloud.

Two Marines have been disciplined for posting disrespectful comments about a female soldier on social media, The Washington Post reports. It's the first time the Marine Corps has officially punished someone for online misconduct since last month's nude photo scandal.

  • The Game Archaeologist: Neocron and Neocron 2

It's the distant future. The high-tech battle armor you wear sharply contrasts with the ruins of civilization that you traverse. You spot an enemy and raise your pulse rifle, firing off shots as you strafe to cover. Technology hasn't solved the issue of war; it's just made it that much more bloody. PlanetSide 2? Nope -- this is Neocron, the quite-forgettable MMOFPS from the way-back era. I like to call it "that game with the most regrettable cover art in the history of video games," but that isn't quite as snappy. Going into this article, I have to admit that I previously knew absolutely nothing about Neocron other than the fact that it was a sci-fi MMO that vaguely reminded me of Anarchy Online. Oh, also the fact that nobody I know or perhaps ever will know played it. Is it just a myth? A practical joke to make us believe in a MMO phantom? Only sifting through layers of dust and grime would produce results, so I rolled up my sleeves and started digging.

  • The Daily Grind: What challenges have you added to your game?

I'm always fascinated with stories of players who deliberately add challenges to their MMO gameplay. Sometimes you hear about folks who try to get to the level cap without killing a single creature, or people who play with naked (unarmored) toons, or those who make it their mission to complete every single achievement and quest there is. I see self-created challenges as an attempt to add spice and flavor into games, usually after you've long since gotten bored of the most efficient leveling path. Some players think up these challenges to add a slice of sandbox-style goals into an otherwise theme park-oriented title. Right now, one of my characters in Lord of the Rings Online is attempting to do every single solo quest in each zone before going elsewhere. It's challenging to slow myself down and get over that desire to progress and go for the big XP rewards, but it's a ton of fun so far as well. So, big or small, what challenges have you added to your game? Every morning, the Massively bloggers probe the minds of their readers with deep, thought-provoking questions about that most serious of topics: massively online gaming. Platinum Games' second project (the first to be released in Japan) is about as different from MadWorld as any game could be: it's Infinite Space, the epic sci-fi RPG for DS. Sega just announced that it'll be released in Japan on June 11. No international release dates have been announced yet, though GameStop suggests July 7. Infinite Space casts the player as a spaceship crew member who works his way up to captain, and features giant, customizable spaceships and wireless ship-to-ship battles.Along with the announcement, Sega refreshed the Japanese website for the RPG with some animated story scenes, and released new screenshots. Hopefully as we approach release, we'll be able to see more gameplay stuff.[Via Siliconera]

  • No pants: one in five Canadian men have gamed in the nude

Canada. It's cold up there. But that hasn't stopped one in five Canadian men tapped by a recent survey from coming clean, admitting that they have played games in the buff. The poll, commissioned by none other than Microsoft, asked about a thousand gamers up North about where and how they get their game on, with 17 percent of those men asked responding that they play games naked. A smaller number of women, 9 percent, indicated that they, too, shed their clothes when it's time to game. How does this happen, exactly? Do they start off wearing clothes, and then slowly disrobe over an especially heated round of Call of Duty, or are they sans pants from the minute they lay the controller in their lap. You know what, we don't wanna know. And what does such a survey tell us, pray tell? Among other things, when you go over to someone's house to play games, bring your own controller. And disinfectant.[Via Digital Home Canada]

  • Antiquated hardware used to masterfully remix Radiohead's Nude

It takes some serious game to rise above the legions of mediocre DIYers out there and stand tall as a true legend. Judging by the video posted up after the cut, James Houston can now consider himself one of the elite. Somehow, this cat managed to tackle the nearly impossible task of remixing Radiohead's Nude without defacing it entirely (read: merging bits and pieces of the tune into a 4/4 arrangement and calling it a day). Instead, he utilized a host of aging hardware (Sinclar ZX Spectrum, Epson LX-81 dot matrix printer, HP Scanjet 3c, etc.) to create a rendition that even Yorke could admire. For fans of In Rainbows and mesmerizing music videos alike, there's a must-see waiting just below.[Via Hack-A-Day, thanks Eliot]

  • NSFW: Austrian PS3 ad replaces penis with thumb

There's a saying that all advertising is good advertising. Perhaps this example will prove to be true. This Australian Austrian ad for PS3 uses a nude man whose penis has been replaced by a thumb. The imagery is clearly NSFW so we can't put it on our site, but you can check it out at Ads of the World (if you so choose).Perhaps the image is so provocative that the tiny "PLAYSTATION 3" text at the bottom will be seared into our minds. We don't know exactly how this ad would be effective, but that's for the folks at TBWA\Wien to explain to SCEE.[Via Gizmodo]Update: Austrian, not Australian. Whoops.

  • Naughtiness on the Nintendo DS

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/gaming_news/Naughtiness_on_the_Nintendo_DS'; The Nintendo DS's software library is diverse enough to satisfy almost every genre craving or niche interest. If what you're looking for, however, is a game with more mature themes -- nudity and sexual content -- it's doubtful that your needs will be met. Japanese dating sims and witch fondling titles notwithstanding, the DS doesn't have any Leisure Suit Larrys, Hot Coffee mods, or even porno-Tetris clones. But just like any other scene, the Nintendo DS has a network of people working outside of the fringe to create those illicit goods you'd never ask for at a respectable shop. They hustle their homemade software from the back-alleys of the internet, each downloaded bit transferred in a nondescript paper bag. We're going to take you through that DS underworld, previewing a selection of homebrew games that are sure to arouse your interest. So put the kids to bed, light those candles you've been saving for a night like this, and slip into your robe and wizard hat. This feature is for adult eyes only!

  • Nintendo's Wiimote gets dissected, inspected

While the console launch frenzy has given us some exciting innards to look at lately, it's good to see someone finally take a big step away from that potentially hazardous (and sued) Wiimote, pick up a screwdriver, and delve right in. Similar to the precise movements that splayed the Wii itself, these folks used utmost caution (and a fairly nice digicam, too) when dissecting their brand new Wiimote. Beneath the casing was the IR sensor, capacitors, a Broadcom BCM2042 Bluetooth chip, vibration motor, LEDs, accelerometer, EEPROM, and a myriad of other random forms of circuitry. Interestingly enough, the kids behind the scenes got a little carried away and found that the "EEPROM contained all the constants like Bluetooth ID, firmware revision, etc.," while the Wiimote "functionality was burned into the Broadcom" chip itself. So if cramming a SIXAXIS controller into a model airplane is too amateur for you, crack open that Wiimote (before it does the same to you) and get to hacking.[Thanks, Kevin]

  • Naked girls that you'll never see playing games

Everyone has a calendar featuring naked folks in it these days. Sports teams, firemen, older ladies gardening in the UK -- everyone is stripping off in order to raise money for one cause or another. The tried and true method of having someone pictured in the buff above February's grid squares has been selling calendars and lining mechanic's shops for years, and now it comes with a fresh scoop of video games.Totally Nerdcore has launched a calendar to try and please gamers and simultaneously line their own pockets. It contains full-on nudity, and the site doesn't come close to being SFW, so surf at your own peril. Yes, you can now own a photo of a naked woman wearing nothing but a Nintendo Power Glove, complete with a convenient, built-in hanging loop. It will really tie your game room together. These girls are clearly models, and just gaming poseurs -- a slap in the face to real girl gamers like PMS Clan and the Frag Dolls. If someone puts together a calendar with those girls in it, for charity or not, it'll pwn all other video game calendars, except perhaps the hot action of Games Shipping This Week.In other news, don't look for the Joystiq: All Nude calendar anytime soon.[Thanks, Michael][Warning: link NSFW]

I think most of us have seen and enjoyed the infamous photos of Jessica Chobot licking her PSP. Heck, there's even been some copycat pics that have hit the net since, and we've all beared witness to Andrew's infatuation of Asian girls posing with PSPs, but now a girl gamer has just one-upped them all by posing nude with all sorts of video game equipment, including a PSP, covering her naughty bits. These are definitely NSFW, so check the pics after the jump.(Via Kotaku)
