There aren't many new videos to watch in this week's Nintendo Channel update that you haven't already seen online, but Ubisoft does give us a quick look at creating "Barabbid Obama" -- or just "R'Obama," in the streetz -- in Rabbids Go Home, the obvious highlight in this week's post. Oh, and we do learn one very important fact: Rabbids enjoy wearing thong underwear. What? Hey, even Rabbids need to feel sexy sometimes.

Rabbids Go Home is now out, having officially been released yesterday. However, the bonuses typically associated with pre-orders are still up for grabs, in the form of two sets of retailer-exclusive Rabbids. If you order the game from GameStop (who, confusingly, is still accepting pre-orders), you'll receive exclusive Rabbid costumes based on Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed. If you buy it from Best Buy (in-store), you'll receive exclusive Rabbid costumes based on ... Best Buy. The exclusive Best Buy Employee and Geek Squad Rabbids will be yours! It's a tough choice, we know: the guy from Assassin's Creed or the guy who sold you Assassin's Creed. However, we doubt the codes are one-time use, so you should be able to find all the costume codes online soon enough.

This latest promo for Ubisoft's upcoming Rabbids Go Home shows us that the Rabbids really are inventive problem solvers. Though things rarely go the way they wish, it all works out in the end -- mostly because it's always hilarious in the end. No, the alter ego of Kelly Bundy hasn't found her way into Ubisoft's Rabbids Go Home, but a team of rubber-suited rabbid haters called The Verminators have. Utilizing unique skill sets such as belly flops and headbutts, these guys aim to keep the world safe for shoppers everywhere by eliminating the furry hoarders. Get acquainted with them through the introductory video above, then head past the break to see some Verminator-based gameplay. Waaaah!%Gallery-51831%

In their usual crazy style, the rabbids have invaded GamesCom this year with hilarious results. But, it seems they missed the memo about where this year's show is located (Cologne, duh) and instead made the trip to Leipzig. Hey, what do you expect from a species that thinks it belongs on the moon?Additionally, Ubisoft has released actual gameplay footage from Rabbids Go Home (available past the break). The gameplay looks just as fun as what we've already experienced and highlights include a stolen jet engine and a pack of crazed chihuahuas. Yo quiero waaaaah!

The latest trailer for Rabbids Go Home introduces a character we wouldn't have ever thought to care about: one of our own. This particular human appears to have a comically exaggerated obsession with cleanliness and order. We know that's supposed to be funny in contrast to the Rabbids, but, honestly, now we're just going to feel bad when we control a pair of screaming rabbit-monsters who wreck this guy's house and take his pants. We're still going to do it, we'll just feel bad. After the break, we've embedded some in-game footage of those jerky Rabbids disrupting our human lives. Plus, we've added new screens and concept art to our gallery below:%Gallery-51831%

Today, Ubisoft revealed the DS and DSi iteration of its upcoming Wii action-adventure, Rabbids Go Home. Like the Wii version, the handheld release follows the story of a bunch of Rabbids building a tower of junk to the moon. However, unlike the Wii version's action-based gameplay, Rabbids Go Home on DS is a "puzzle-adventure" -- which, as it turns out, means basically The Incredible Machine with Rabbids in it.The Rabbids use items found in each level to make a path from the start point to a toilet, while keeping as much junk as possible and avoiding Verminator enemies. The game features 150 physics-based puzzles, as well as a level editor that allows players to make and share their own creations. DSi owners will be able to "take pictures and customize them with funny Rabbid animations."Rabbids Go Home on DS will be available Holiday 2009.

click to enlarge Since their introduction in the minigame compilation, Rayman: Raving Rabbids, the title characters of Ubisoft's latest Rayman spin-off (a platformer!) have been among the least psychologically stable game characters ever. This is reflected in nearly every nuance of Rabbids Go Home, from the sadistic "inside the Wiimote" bonus mode to the piloting of a stolen jet engine through an airport terminal. That first bit we mentioned is a detailed interior of a Wii Remote, which reacted to every twist and button press of the real one in our hands during a recent demo of the game. Inside the Wiimote: a Rabbid, subject to all manner of mishandling as we slammed it this way and that before inflating one of its eyes, deflating one of its ears, sticking a squid on its head and diving into the game proper.%Gallery-51831%

Item Number One: This big pile of garbage is sitting outside the LA Convention Center. Just, you know, sitting there. We were about to tell you that it's a promotion for Rabbids Go Home -- because it is -- but we didn't want to ruin the magic for you. And then we remembered that we hate encouraging litterbugs. So, here you go.

A brief tour of the Los Angeles Convention Center -- soon to be swathed in flashing and impossibly loud video game booths -- reveals an early portent of E3's revitalization. Advertising has returned in full force, with humongous banners draped across buildings and video game characters towering over attendees. Oh, and there's a bit of money-wasting eccentricity too. Try the gigantic pile of junk outside the South Hall (courtesy of the homeward-bound Rabbids?) or the cruel, cruel Final Fantasy XIII cast teasing their arrival in ... 2010. Those crazy bunnies are at it again, this time heading out on their very first solo mission. This new trailer -- created specifically for E3 -- shows how calm life was for humanity until the Rabbids came along and, well, started taking all of our stuff. They need it, you see, so that they can build a pile of junk straight to the moon in their new game, Rabbids Go Home.Honestly, there are plenty of reasons to watch this, but, in all honesty, you just haven't lived until you've seen four Rabbids running around carrying a cop car.%Gallery-51831%

If this trailer for Rabbids Go Home is any indication, the plot of the game, in which the Rabbids decide to go live on the moon, is driven by boredom. Specifically, boredom with Rabbids party games!Along with the (surprisingly) funny trailer, Ubisoft has offered some more details of the new Rabbid adventure. Players control a pair of Rabbids with a shopping cart, which can be augmented with items like jet skis or hospital "Bubble Beds," and collect "various sizes of human stuff" in order to build a pile of junk tall enough to reach the moon. The gameplay is divided into "over 40 missions" in which the Rabbids gather stuff while "scaring the Humans right down to their undies - literally!" The Rabbid-loathing humans, in turn, send out "Verminators" to exterminate the yelling critters. Guess the humans are bored with Rabbids games too!%Gallery-51831%

We brought this news to you via Nintendo Power, but just in case you didn't want to get your hopes up until you heard it straight from the horse's mouth: Ubisoft has confirmed that it'll be bringing Rabbids Go Home to the Wii this holiday season. We know that the game centers on the rabbids building a pile of junk to get to the moon, and that Ubisoft Montpellier will be developing the game with a new engine, but that's about it for the time being. Check out Nintendo Power's May issue for more details.

  • Nintendo Power scan seems to confirm 'Rabbids Go Home'

After raving for nearly three years, who can blame Ubisoft's spastic rabbids for wanting something more substantial? That something, as it turns out, is likely a new action adventure game for the Wii, familiarly titled Rabbids Go Home. Apparently revealed in May's Nintendo Power, the game reportedly sets a pair of the player-controlled bunny-things on a quest to return home -- and by home we mean the Moon -- by building a giant tower out of junk. GoNintendo has a single scan, as well as a handful of details, though following three releases and more minigames than we care to count, we half expect the trip into space be just another excuse to party.

  • Ubisoft programmer lists 'Rabbids Go Home' on (raving) resume

Back in October, a trademark appeared in the US trademark database for a piece of "game software" called Rabbids Go Home. According to the résumé of programmer Julien Delezenne, it's -- surprise! -- a Wii game from Ubisoft. Apparently, it's also still in the works, at least as of whenever this document was compiled: Delezenne has been working on it from "November 2007 - Present." Delezenne describes his duties on the title as relating to the "Engine and Tools on the LyN technology ... " Now here's where it gets a bit interesting. He said that he works on that technology "for Rabbids Go Home (Wii) and Beyond Good & Evil 2 (360/PS3)." Shared technology between a super-silly Wii minigame sequel and the high-profile 360/PS3 adventure title? It's promising for the state of Ubisoft's budgets, but also kind of hilarious.
