It'll launch June 25 and 28 in North America and internationally, respectively. The second game, Ride to Hell: Route 666, is a digitally distributed game where players will "recruit and lead a gang of bikers from Chicago to Los Angeles, fighting for every mile of the road using both brain and brawn." It's described as a fast-paced arcade game. That will be out in June on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and Steam. Finally, Ride to Hell: Beatdown is a "rock'n'roll brawler" for mobile, with details rolling in soon. Ride to Hell, the Deep Silver biker game first announced in 2008 before dropping off the radar for several years, may make a surprise arrival on retail shelves in the near future. A list of achievements, posted today by Xbox360Achievements, is the latest piece of growing evidence that the long-unseen game is due for release soon.Ride to Hell was initially expected on Xbox 360 in Q2 2009, but after missing its release window it was rumored to be canceled. Earlier this year, Deep Silver confirmed to Polygon the game is still in development, saying there would be announcements on it soon. Shortly after, a game called Ride to Hell: Retribution received a multiplatform rating from the Australian Classification Board, with developer Eutechnyx listed as the author and Deep Silver as the publisher. The achievements themselves indicate a mixture of shooting with biking elements. When it was first announced in 2008, Deep Silver introduced Ride to Hell as "aimed heavily at the player who wants to become fully involved in the original West Coast biker culture" with a ""hard drinking, bare-knuckle environment." Then again, this was some five years ago. We've reached out to Deep Silver for comment.

  • Cursed Mountain dev Deep Silver Vienna shuttered

As confirmed by parent company Koch Media to Develop, Cursed Mountain developer Deep Silver Vienna has apparently been closed. Citing "the overall economic situation" and noting "this decision is not easy for us," the 20-person staff was recently cut and told they would receive pay through the end of March. Develop posits that the studio's other game -- Ride to Hell -- will likely remain unaffected by the shutdown, as UK dev house Eutechnyx is handling development and Koch Media's Munich offices will oversee the game's management. Deep Silver Vienna was formed in the wake of Rockstar Vienna's closing back in 2006, and originally called itself Games That Matter. Ex-Rockstar Vienna heads Hannes Seifert and Niki Laber launched the studio, and it is said that Siefert has moved on to a position at Square Enix Europe as a creative director. As with every case like this, we'd like to wish those affected the best of luck.

  • 1960's bikers 'Ride to Hell'

Unfortunately, we got overzealous hoping that this was a videogame adaptation of Dante's Divine Comedy. While that's certainly not it, the game is, in fact, a title all about 1960's hog riders living the life of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. Uh, we were pretty close ... somehow. Anyway, titled Ride to Hell, this Deep Silver-published game allows players to "immerse themselves in the liberty and freedom of riding full throttle with their gang on a multitude of different vehicles through the dusty flats of Western America."The game is all about recreating "original West Coast biker culture" -- leather, ass-less chaps, and all. Protecting turf, machines, bros, and their hos from rival gangs is at the core of this game. It sounds all rather GTA-ish, but with a distinct biker flavor to it. We're interested to see more. The game is being developed for "next-gen consoles" and PC; expect to see it sometime mid 2009.[Via press release]

And so the pre-E3 game announcement fun begins with the announcement of a new title coming from the collaborative efforts of Deep Silver, Eutechnyx and Perspective Studios called Ride to Hell. A 1960s focused biker game that is "aimed heavily at the player who wants to become fully involved in the original West Coast biker culture" and promises a "hard drinking, bare-knuckle environment, this is as close to the action as you can get." Sounds perfect for the youngings. Ride to Hell will release to the Xbox 360 platform sometime during the second quarter of 2009.
