    06.15.2009

This week's Rock Band Wiikly brings tracks from a few artists who recently performed at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee. Keeping up with the latest tradition for Rock Band tracks released on Wii, along with the Bonnaroo songs, there's 18 more tracks that were previously released on other consoles in the mix. If Harmonix keeps up this recent pace of Wii-lease, it might have full sync across consoles by the holidays.

With no real change to Rock Band Weekly since the Iron Maiden announcement a couple weeks ago, we gave the long-running feature a break last week during the E3 madness. However, the newbie, Rock Band Wiikly, still has to work it this week. Not only did it receive the aforementioned Iron Maiden content, but an additional 13 tracks previously released on the other consoles. Don't forget to download "Charlene" from Stephen and the Colberts for free. Check out the full list after the break.

This week, the Rock Band 2 Wii DLC collection receives a much-needed infusion of back-catalog content, including a set of six vaguely shocking classic rock songs from Alice Cooper. In addition, nineteen more blasts from the past will be available tomorrow for 200 Wii Points each, from Roy Orbison, Queens of the Stone Age, and more. We know it's hard to pay attention to Rock Band news that isn't about The Beatles, but this has the benefit of being available. Soon.

This week's Rock Band 2 DLC update brings not only the promised tracks from last week's multiplatform Rock Band DLC announcement, but 19 tracks from the back catalog as well. That includes one free track that most of you are going to run to the Wii and download right now: the "Still Alive" song from Portal. Well, you'll run to the Wii tomorrow, when these tracks actually go up. Now you can play the song on a console on which you can't play the game! How ... novel! The list is after the break. Everything not performed by a rogue AI is 200 Wii Points per song.

This week's Wii Rock Band DLC offering delivers a stack of new tunes for the popular music game that spans multiple generations. Like last week, Haromix delivers 25 new tracks from the old school sounds of The Allman Brothers Band to the headbanging vibes of Disturbed. Regardless of your style, there is surely something for you then the tracks go live tomorrow (May 19). As usual, each track is priced at 200 Wii Points ($2). The full track list can be found after the break.

This week's Wii Rock Band DLC offering not only delivers the eclectic mix from last week's Rock Band Weekly announcement, but also adds ample variety of its own. With 25 tracks available, across many different genres of music, there's likely something in the list to satiate the DLC track hunger. This is the dim sum of Rock Band Wiikly announcements. Check out the full list after the break.

We knew all about Jane's Addiction hitting Rock Band 2 on the Wii this week, but we had no idea the content would show up with so many friends! Toby Keith has an even stranger line dancing partner for Rock Band Wiikly than he did for the regular update a couple weeks back. Joining him for the Wii upload will be a Mr. Malmsteen, first name: Yngwie. Poor guitarists, prepare for blisters or lube those fingers up properly ... but not so much that the controller flies out of your hands and into the TV.Individual songs (200 Wii points apiece): "Beer for My Horses" -- Toby Keith "I Love This Bar" -- Toby Keith "She's a Hottie" -- Toby Keith "Should've Been a Cowboy" -- Toby Keith "Who's Your Daddy?" -- Toby Keith "How Do You Like Me Now" -- Toby Keith "Warriors of Time" -- Black Tide "Waking The Demon" -- Bullet For My Valentine "New Slang" -- The Shins "Caprici Di Diablo" -- Yngwie Malmsteen "Damnation Game" -- Yngwie Malmsteen "Red Devil" -- Yngwie Malmsteen All tracks are masters and will be available for download tomorrow, April 21. The sync is back on between Rock Band Wiikly and Rock Band Weekly. There was a little hiccup last week, but it appears Wii rockers are ready to start receiving the "new" DLC again. 03.09.2009

It seems that the sync achieved between Rock Band Wiikly and Rock Band Weekly last week may not be a standard occurrence as was once expected. This week's list of regurgitated tracks for the Wii's Rock Band Music Store features some relatively new DLC from a couple weeks ago, with others from the inaugural edition of Rock Band Weekly.Individual songs (200 Wii points apiece): "Blackened" - Metallica "Ride the Lightning" - Metallica "My Iron Lung" - Radiohead "Joker & the Thief" - Wolfmother "Calling Dr. Love" - KISS "Moonage Daydream" - David Bowie "Train in Vain" - The Clash "Kool Thing" - Sonic Youth "Why Do You Love Me" - Garbage "3 Dimes Down" - Drive By Truckers "Can't Let Go" - Lucinda Williams "People Got a Lotta Nerve" - Neko Case "Time Bomb" - Old 97s "Satellite Radio" - Steve Earle The tracks will be available tomorrow, March 10. We've contacted Harmonix to find out how it plans to do the syncing from here on out, as it was originally supposed to have the same new tracks across all platforms starting last week.

    03.02.2009

It appears that Rock Band Wiikly and Rock Band Weekly have achieved sync, as Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood album and No Doubt will be available this week on all current-gen consoles. The Wii's Rock Band Music Store still has a lot of catching up to do, so it also receives a reconstituted serving of Jimmy Eat World.Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood (200 Wii points apiece): "Love Struck Baby" "Pride and Joy" "Texas Flood" "Tell Me" "Rude Mood" "Testify" "Mary Had a Little Lamb" "Dirty Pool" "I'm Cryin" "Lenny" Individual songs (200 Wii points apiece): "New" - No Doubt "Futures" - Jimmy Eat World "Lucky Denver Mint" - Jimmy Eat World "Sweetness" - Jimmy Eat World The tracks will be available tomorrow, March 3, and videos for all of this week's tracks are after the break.

    02.23.2009

This week's Rock Band Wii music store update contains The Cars' 1978 self-titled debut record. Each track is sold separately, so it'll cost $3 more than if rockers had purchased the album on Xbox 360 or PS3.The Cars (200 Wii points apiece) "Good Times Roll" "My Best Friend's Girl" "Just What I Needed" "I'm in Touch with Your World" "Don't Cha Stop" "You're All I've Got Tonight" "Bye Bye Love" "Moving in Stereo" "All Mixed Up" The tracks will be available tomorrow, February 24, and videos for all this week's songs are after the break. This is the last week in February and we've yet to see indication that the Wii's sync with "new" Rock Band Weekly tracks will still occur this month. Currently, the Harmonix press release notes it'll happen "soon." We're following up with the developer to see if there's a new sync window.

    02.17.2009

Selections from Nirvana's breakthrough album, Nevermind, are offered up as this week's content for the Wii's Rock Band music store. As we pointed out last October, when these tracks released on XBM and PSN, notable songs from Nevermind that are unavailable to download are "Come as You Are" and "Smells like Teen Spirit." Both "In Bloom" and "Drain You" are available on Rock Band and its sequel, respectively. Nirvana (200 Wii points apiece) "Breed" "Lounge Act" "On a Plain" "Polly" "Something in the Way" "Stay Away" "Territorial Pissings" Videos for the tracks can be found after the break. No word yet if the Wii's sync with "new" Rock Band Weekly tracks will still occur this month, but the press release from Harmonix notes it'll happen "soon."

    02.09.2009

Rush's Moving Pictures album is this week's regurgitated Rock Band content for the Wii. Well, that's not exactly accurate, as Wii rockers will have to pay $2 for each track, rather than pay $11 for the whole package, like Xbox 360 and PS3 owners. Rush - Moving Pictures (200 Wii points apiece) "Tom Sawyer" "Red Barchetta" "YYZ" "Limelight" "The Camera Eye" "Witch Hunt" "Vital Signs" Videos for the tracks can be found after the break. We're still waiting to hear when "new" Rock Band Weekly tracks will become available for Wii, but last we heard, it should still be sometime this month.
