Tweet var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/story/r/pax_2010_ccp_unveils_eve_online_s_latest_expansion_massively'; At PAX Prime, we caught up with CCP's lead game designer Noah Ward, who paused helpfully between the roaring crowds on all sides of the booth to fill us in on the "secret sauce" to EVE Online's continued growth and success. Ward said it was simple: CCP's steadfast commitment to the game for the long haul. The dev team strongly believes in the growth of EVE and works hard to expand it both inward and upward. Part of that growth includes continued expansions to the title, and Ward was excited to reveal the next one on deck. While it doesn't yet have a name -- at least, nothing CCP could put in print -- the team is hyped up about its latest expansion to the EVE Online franchise. Set to debut later this winter, the expansion looks to build on many of the key foundations that Tyrannis began. Hit the jump to hear about the four new features that EVE fans will find themselves crowing about by the time Santa comes a-callin'!

Welcome to Know your Lore, where we bring the story behind the people, places, and cultures of Azeroth. The Worgen are coming. We now know for sure that, come Deathwing's Cataclysm, The Worgen of Gilneas will be answering the call of the Alliance. The Worgen, while they have quickly become a classic, iconic race in Warcraft lore, actually only came onto the scene in WoW itself, providing an enemy to Horde and Alliance alike in Silverpine Forest, Duskwood, and Ashenvale. But who are they, and what bought them to this place where they will become one of the next playable races of the World of Warcraft before other choices? In the BeginningTo know how this all begins, the first place to look is The Book of Ur. This Book, written by Ur, a Mage of Dalaran, eventually found its way into the personal library of the Archmage Arugal. It describes the origin of the Worgen.

  • Wilson's Sasha W/P speaker -- an all-new WATT/Puppy for the same old customer base

Wilson Audio's WATT/Puppy is an iconic speaker, but the pairing of the WATT (Wilson Audio Tiny Tot) monitor-like headpiece and the Puppy subwoofer pedestal is getting a updated to a new design and (thankfully) a less saccharine-laced "Sasha W/P" name to go with it. Pretty much everything is getting updated -- the enclosures, drivers and crossovers all benefit from lessons learned on some of Wilson Audio's other models, and the higher performance Sasha W/P is even going to come at lower price than the outgoing $28,000 per pair WATT/Puppy. Don't get your hopes up, though -- in case you didn't get the hint from the pic above, the Sasha W/P isn't exactly breaking into new pricing territory for Wilson Audio, and we don't think the $26,900 price is going to open a floodgate of prospective buyers who just couldn't swing the extra $1,100 for the outgoing model.

Capcom has been combing the desert Europe looking for the best Street Fighter IV players around, Eurogamer reports. Utilizing the new Championship mode to track your Grade Points (which determines your overall rank in the standings, naturally), the contest is open starting today and ends on May 17. Then, on the week of May 30, the best 30 fighters from each of the participating countries -- UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain -- will be matched up to decide the champion of each nation. After that, the five winners will then be flown to a secret location (we're crossing our fingers for inside of a volcano) on the weekend of June 13 to compete for the grand prize: an Aerox R Yamaha scooter and matching SFIV jackets. If you're a Joystiq reader, and you make it to the finals and win this scooter, we suggest you name it Sasha.
