It seems the PlayStation Store got a little jealous of the brick-and-mortar retailers who were offering discounts during this week of Black Friday Thanksgiving. Beginning with today's specially-dated Tuesday PSN update, a handful of downloadable PS3 titles will be offered for half-price until December 2. Here's a list of the encheapened games, and their temporarily slimmed-down prices: Bomberman Ultra – $4.99 Comet Crash – $4.99 Flower – $4.99 Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao – $7.49 The Last Guy – $4.99 Prince of Persia Classic – $4.99 Smash Cars – $7.49 .nounderline a { text-decoration: none; } Check out Joystiq's Black Friday Game Deals Hub or jump to a retailer guide below: Best Buy | GameStop | Kmart & Sears | Target | Toys"R"Us | Walmart For more Black Friday coverage, check out Black Friday Deals, Cyber Monday Sales, And other Black Friday 2009 stories today from Walletpop.com

The team that's bringing you the Mushroom Wars demo is also preparing a Smash Cars demo for tomorrow. Thankfully, the trial RC racer will be available in both Europe and North American when the PlayStation Store updates. "Just one action-packed lap around the track with real-time physics, innovative stunts and next-generation graphics will be sure to capture gamers' attention," said Vladimir Starzhevsky, co-founder and CEO of Creat Studios, Inc., in a press release. Hopefully, the demo will include more than just one lap. %Gallery-48220%

Today sees the release of two new PSN titles with a simplicity of purpose that we find and heartwarming -- Smash Cars and Battle Tanks. No need for high-minded prose or character development here, folks. Give us vehicles running into each other really fast, and we will be satisfied. Also new this week is the totally free Batman: Arkham Asylum "Play as Joker" DLC, a batch of Crash Commando DLC (accompanied by a price cut for the full version of the game), demos for NHL 10 and F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn, and more content for Disgaea 3 than our minds can currently comprehend. Seriously, we're going to be contemplating the uses of an "Action Prinny" for the rest of the day. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

  • Smash Cars careening to PSN August 20

Scott Hyman at Creat Studios recently popped up on PlayStation Blog to announce Smash Cars, a game more about racing and stuntin' than smashing, will be available on PSN August 20 for $14.99. Sure, we know what you're thinking. Why pay for a game about racing and doing crazy stunts when you can just wait until 2 a.m., sneak downstairs, steal mom's keys from her purse, and go joyriding in her Geo Tracker? As fun as it is to do donuts in the Perkins parking lot (believe us, it sure is), the tickets and possible jail time that come afterward sure aren't.

Creat Studios continues to support PSN with exclusives, like the upcoming Smash Cars. This is easily the most "hardcore" game the studio has offered on PlayStation Network, and is the first of many to come. Planned for a release later this month, Smash Cars will offer stunt-infused arcade racing action -- online only -- for a low-budget price of around $10. Considering the production values of Smash Cars, that's a pretty incredible value. For the first time ever, Creat Studios will offer a demo of one of their games. Previous games were geared towards the casual player, so the studio thought a demo was unnecessary. However, Creat Studios believes a demo of Smash Cars will really whet the appetite for more. From what we've seen so far, we'd agree.%Gallery-48220%

  • Watch the Smash Cars trailer, eat a sandwich

Creat Studios' upcoming Smash Cars game for the PlayStation Network reminds us a lot of ExciteBots, sans the mid-race sandwich-making and pie-throwing. The arcade racer is a radical departure from the studios' previous titles, focusing on high-octane in-your-face action. Cuboid, this is not.Players will have to control tiny RC vehicles and utilize nitro boosts to pull off some gravity-defying stunts. By drifting and jumping and hitting various obstacles, players will earn points in their race for first. You can expect Smash Cars later this quarter.%Gallery-48220%

Creat Studio's unrelenting dedication to providing PSN games continues today with the announcement of Smash Cars, a "followup" to the studio's PS2 game of the same name. Available some time between April and July, Smash Cars is a "high-speed mini car racing game with a distinct arcade flavor." From the description on the PlayStation Blog it seems to be a stunt racer. and will feature car customization as well as single and multiplayer support. The game will be available to play at Sony's booth at GDC next week, so no doubt we'll have some hands-on impressions ready for you at some point during the show.%Gallery-48220%
