Two new character classes are coming to WAKFU's ongoing closed beta. The free-to-play fantasy title developed by Ankama is adding the Enutrof and the Ecaflip to the roster of playable classes as of today's patch. While the names are certainly an unfamiliar mouthful, the classes themselves embody two long-standing adventure archetypes: the treasure-hunter (the Enutrof), and the gambler (the Ecaflip). Ankama is also implementing major features of WAKFU's political system in today's update, among them various player governor abilities including the setting of policies and the appointment of various officials. Finally, existing WAKFU characters will be wiped, so you'll need to start anew the next time you log into the beta client. Check out the full patch notes at the official WAKFU website.

Long time Guild Wars players are breaking out their farming builds, and Raptor Nestlings and Vaettir all over Tyria are cringing. It's Easter time, which translates into Sweet Treats Weekend in Guild Wars. Beginning at noon (-7 GMT) this Friday and continuing until 11:59 PM Sunday, every enemy across the world of Tyria will be randomly dropping sweets in the form of Chocolate Bunnies and Golden Eggs. If you are really determined, take a few whacks at any charmable animals you pass in your travels -- they drop them too. Bunnies and Eggs will both raise your sugar title, giving two and one Sweet Tooth points respectively, but Golden Eggs are a triple threat. Eating the egg gives you a Sweet Tooth point and raises all of your attributes for five minutes, but merely picking it up when it drops adds a point to Treasure Hunter. You've got two and a half days to pick up these goodies, so off you go -- see you in Rata Sum!

Frogster has announced that the next Bounty Bay Online expansion, titled Beyond the Horizon, is just ... well, beyond the horizon. Beyond the Horizon will add six cities to the game, as well as five character classes of a brand new type called 'professions'. Our favorite of the new professions (based solely on the name) would have to be the 'Armed Businessman'. He's not a sleazy criminal, he's a businessman; but if a deal is going south, you better believe he's got the equipment to take care of himself. The other four professions are Treasure Hunter, Royal Military Officer, Imperial Guardian and Caribbean Pirate. There's a whole host of other features planned for the free expansion: a wedding system, new merchant factions with rewarding quest-lines, extra mini-games, and pets. There will also be a rankings system to help sort the wheat from the chaff, showing who the richest players are, as well as the best guilds, fighters, and fishermen. Beyond the Horizon is scheduled to be released in Q4 this year. A new site devoted to the expansion is up, but it looks like most of the site's links aren't available just yet.
