Urgent maintenance on all realms at 1 p.m. EDT
All realms are scheduled to be down for maintenance from 1 p.m. EDT (10 a.m. PDT) to 3 p.m. EDT (Noon PDT). Laetzin We will be performing urgent maintenance on all realms to resolve a technical issue Friday, September 28th. Maintenance will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at approximately 12:00 PM PDT. source We don't know what the technical issue is, but we'll keep this post updated with any new information. Surprise! Urgent maintenance today
Today (well, today if you're reading this on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, which you probably are), there will be some surprise downtime in order to correct a technical issue. There's no indication of a client patch or anything like that, just some good ol' standard downtime from 8 a.m. EST / 5 a.m. PST until 2 p.m. EST / 11 a.m. PST. If things get extended, we'll let you know about it. Maintenance will begin at 5:00 AM and conclude at approximately 11:00 AM PST. Blizzard has announced that they are conducting urgent maintenance on several realms. Though the official Warcraft twitter account announced it would only go on until noon PST (the tweet was about account maintenance), the in-game and forum messages state that they do not know how long the maintenance will take. They expect to have more information by 12:30 p.m. PST / 3:30 p.m. EST. The list of affected realms is after the break (which includes Zangarmarsh, the It came from the Blog server). Urgent maintenance for US realms
Blizzard has announced that they need to perform urgent maintenance on select US realms. There's no word on what the maintenance is for -- not that this is a surprise, as it's exceedingly rare that we get any specific reasons for downtime. (Perhaps this is for the best, since detailed info might just wind up being over-our-heads-techspeak.) However it's apparently not critical enough to require immediate downtime, as Blizzard isn't bringing any realms down until early Thursday morning, between 5:00 AM PDT and 7:00 AM PDT. So if you play on any of the following realms, be prepared to have a couple of hours of free time: Antonidas, Anub'arak, Blackwater Raiders, Bladefist, Cenarion Circle, Cenarius, Darrowmere, Drenden, Echo Isles, Farstriders, Fenris, Hydraxis, Hyjal, Korialstrasz, Lightbringer, Maiev, Misha, Mok'Nathal, Moon Guard, Nazgrel, Nordrassil, Quel'dorei, Ravenholdt, Rivendare, Shandris, Shu'halo, Sisters of Elune, The Forgotten Coast, Tortheldrin, Uther, or Vashj.
Downtime for select US realms today
Sixteen US realms are being taken offline for urgent maintenance early this morning -- that is to say, Thursday, November 30th at 5:00AM PST. The maintenance period is expected to last approximately one hour and, no -- there is not the faintest clue as to the reason for the maintenance, other than the indication that it is "urgent." So if 5:00 AM PST falls into your usual playtime, and you play on any of the following realms, you're going to be forced to take a nice breakfast break: Azjol-Nerub, Bloodscalp, Boulderfist, Bronzebeard, Crushridge, Daggerspine, Darkspear, Draenor, Dragonblight, Dunemaul, Feathermoon, Perenolde, Stonemaul, Stormscale, Suramar, and Uldum.
